About the Trainer
K9 Reflection is a heart and soul dog training business founded by Lauren Klein, specializing in behavior modification for dogs with anxiety, reactivity, aggression, and fear-based issues. They offer personalized training solutions including private lessons, drop-off day training, board and train programs, puppy camp, and virtual sessions. Their approach emphasizes mental clarity, holistic care, and communication between dog and owner, recognizing that human behavior is just as critical to success as dog training. They provide ongoing support through free weekly Pack Walks at Martin Marietta Park, included with most programs, to reinforce skills in real-world settings. K9 Reflection also offers in-home behavior assessments and custom training plans tailored to each dog’s breed, age, and emotional needs. Their team includes certified professionals with extensive experience in rescue, shelter, and veterinary settings, and they prioritize safety, compassion, and long-term behavioral change over quick fixes.
They serve dog owners in New Bern, NC and surrounding areas, with services designed for dogs of all ages—from puppies to seniors—and all sizes, including reactive, fearful, and shelter-rescued dogs. Their programs are intentionally limited in capacity to ensure individualized attention and high-quality care. E-collar training is offered as an option for select cases, and they work closely with local shelters and nonprofits like Paws of War and Colonial Capital Humane Society, offering discounts to adopters and volunteers.
Accomplishments
Founder Lauren Klein has over 5 years of full-time professional training experience, with prior work in veterinary care and daycare. She fosters dogs with behavioral needs, volunteers with Paws of War to train service dogs for veterans, and is a member of the Outkast Working Dog Club. Trainer Sara Seawell holds a Zoology degree from NC State and has rescued and placed numerous high-need dogs. Both trainers have extensive hands-on experience with shelter and rescue populations.
How to Get Started!
Prospective clients begin with an in-home behavior assessment ($110) to evaluate the dog’s needs and lifestyle, after which a customized training plan is created. Alternatively, clients can book a private lesson or select a drop-off program directly through the website. Pack Walks are open to all without enrollment.
