Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

K9 Services Unlimited offers customized training programs for dogs of all breeds and ages, including Day Training, Board and Train programs, and Private Lessons. Their programs are designed to set both dogs and owners up for success, with experienced trainers providing focused, one-on-one attention.

The Board and Train program is an immersive solution where dogs stay with trainers for 4 to 6 weeks, receiving personalized training. Dogs stay Monday through Friday, with a one-hour owner lesson every Friday to reinforce techniques over the weekend. Programs include a 4-Week Basic on Leash Obedience focusing on socialization, exposure, confidence, structure, and management; a 6-Week Advanced Off Leash Obedience enhancing training with increased distance, duration, and distractions; and an 8-Week Behavior Modification program for ingrained behaviors. They also offer a VIP Adventure Program (Elite 1: 10-12 weeks, Elite 2: 8-10 weeks) for public access training and unique experiences like travel and outdoor sports.

Behavior Modification training specializes in addressing aggressive, anxious, or fearful behaviors using a holistic approach and customized plans. All behavioral cases start with a minimum 8-week reset Board and Train program, utilizing Behavioral Adjustment Training (BAT) in a controlled environment. Owner training is provided after the program to maintain progress.

Obedience Training is offered as a Day Program where dogs are dropped off between 5 AM and 11 AM and picked up between 4 PM and 10 PM. Each week includes a one-on-one private lesson on Friday. Programs include 4-week On Leash Basic Obedience and 6-week Advanced Obedience. This program emphasizes training both the dog and the owner, providing weekly homework and lifetime access to group classes.

Additional programs include Puppy Training, designed to lay the foundation for good behavior, Aggression Training to manage challenging behaviors, and Police K9 Training to prepare working dogs for law enforcement with a focus on obedience, control, and specialized tasks.
