This program is described as a “K-9 Boot Camp” and aims to create dramatic and lasting behavioral changes using motivational, fair, and balanced training methods. The curriculum covers essential commands and behaviors including Attention, Leash Manners (preventing pulling and jumping), Sit/Sit Stay, Down/Down Stay, Come, Heel, Release, Climb, and Place. Training begins in a controlled environment and gradually introduces environmental distractions, including other animals like chickens, ducks, and goats, to ensure reliability. Resistance training is also used to proof commands under all circumstances. While not every dog is capable of off-leash training, a high percentage (over 80%) achieve it.

The program includes six private training sessions at their facility, emphasizing owner participation for long-term success. Requirements for enrollment include dogs being at least 8 weeks old, in good health, with current veterinary records (including rabies certificate for dogs over 12 weeks), and a Connecticut Dog License. Puppies under 6 months are required to undergo crate training at an additional cost to establish or maintain housebreaking habits. Dogs that complete the program are eligible for special boarding and tune-up training rates.

Pricing Summary

The Six-Week In-Kennel Dog Training Program costs $6500.00, which includes six weeks of boarding, training, equipment fees, and six private training sessions at their facility. A mandatory Crate Training fee of $1500.00 applies to puppies under 26 weeks of age. Behavioral fees for issues like anxiety or aggression range from $1500.00 to $3000.00, charged in addition to the obedience program fee.

Boarding rates are $60.00 per calendar day for a regular kennel/crate, $80.00 for a Double Run, and $90.00 for Premium boarding (includes one play/walk session and three on-leash bathroom breaks). Boarding with refresher training for dogs who completed their 6-week IKT program is $110.00, or $135.00 for special handling dogs. Additional boarding extras include baths starting at $35.00, 15-minute walk/exercise for $22.00, medication administration for $5.00-$12.00, and injections for $12.00.

All services are subject to Connecticut State sales tax of 6.35%. Payment for programs is due in full at the start by cash, check, bank transfer, or credit card. A deposit is required to reserve a training spot, and all veterinary bills must be paid before dog pickup.

Policies

K9one LLC guarantees that dogs will know, understand, and retain the exercises outlined in their 4 or 6-week programs for life. If a dog does not understand or remember the taught exercises, they will work with the dog and owner to resolve the issue with no additional training fees. They are not responsible for any personal items (leashes, collars, bowls, toys, bedding) left at the kennel by owners. If a program extends beyond the planned duration due to the dog’s learning pace, no additional charges apply unless extra services are requested. All veterinary bills incurred during a dog’s stay must be paid in full before the dog is picked up by the owner.
