About the Trainer
RJ Hoppe is a second-generation dog trainer with over 16 years of experience, having started training dogs at age 13 under his father’s guidance at GatorlandK9. He specializes in private and board-and-train programs that focus on behavior modification, obedience, and service dog training for dogs of all ages and breeds. RJ uses individualized methods tailored to each dog’s temperament and learns from global training techniques, including Schutzhund, search and rescue, and service dog protocols. He emphasizes training both the dog and the owner, ensuring long-term success through hands-on guidance and clear communication. RJ offers specialized training for German Shepherds, Malinois, Dobermans, Pitbulls, and other high-energy or working breeds, and provides discounts for military veterans, law enforcement, healthcare workers, and first responders.
His programs are designed to produce fast, lasting results—often resolving serious behavior issues like leash reactivity, aggression, fearfulness, and separation anxiety in as little as one session or within 60 days. He also offers learning videos, equipment recommendations, and ongoing support to help owners maintain progress at home.
Accomplishments
RJ has trained over 150 dogs for families, police departments, and individuals with disabilities. He trained under his father, a 40-year veteran dog trainer and founder of the American Street Ring system. RJ has refined his skills through international training in Europe and the U.S. in Schutzhund, service dog work, and search and rescue.
