About the Trainer
Kalamazoo Dog Training Club (KDTC) is a non-profit organization that trains dog owners to train their dogs. They have been offering puppy, beginning, and advanced classes since 1975.
KDTC provides various dog training classes including Dog tricks, Competitive Obedience, Nosework, Puppy, Beginning classes, Canine Good Citizen, and Rally. Their mission also includes educating and encouraging the public to practice responsible dog ownership, and promoting cooperation and good sportsmanship among members involved in dog training and exhibiting.
The club recently moved to a new location called The Puppy Playground, situated west of Galesburg and off E. Michigan Ave (M96). This new facility offers the same great classes and instructors, along with generous inside matted space and handy parking. KDTC was founded in January 1975 and was recognized by the American Kennel Club in June 1978. The club has grown from fewer than 12 members to over 50.
Beyond classes, KDTC holds monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month (except April, September, and December), with board meetings at 6:00 PM and general member meetings at 7:00 PM. They also host social events like a Christmas party in December, a picnic with dog games in September, and an awards banquet in April.
Accomplishments
The Kalamazoo Dog Training Club (KDTC) was founded in January 1975. It received recognition from the American Kennel Club (AKC), the largest canine organization in the United States, in June 1978.
Since its inception, the club has grown significantly, from fewer than 12 members to more than 50. They have consistently offered Puppy, Beginning, and Advanced classes since 1975.
