Kaliber Canine offers Board and Train programs where dogs stay at their facility for intensive training. Upon completion, owners receive a pickup session to learn the commands and how to work with their dog. They work with all breeds and sizes, and accept spayed, neutered, or intact dogs. Training duration is based on results, not time, with no extra charge if a dog needs more time.

The Basic program, for dogs 4 months and older, averages 2-3 weeks and covers on-leash commands like Sit, Down, Stay, Here, and Heel. It includes a 1-hour pickup session and discounted boarding rates.

The Elite program, for dogs 6 months and older, averages 4-5 weeks. It includes all Basic commands plus Place and Release on-leash, and Here off-leash. This program also addresses behavior problems such as dog aggression, people aggression, jumping, separation anxiety, mouthing/nipping, and stealing objects/trash. It comes with 2 private lessons (within 3 months), 3 months of group class access, a 1-hour pickup session, and discounted boarding rates.

The Einstein program, for dogs 8 months and older, averages 5-6 weeks. It includes all Elite commands plus Leave it on and off-leash. This program also addresses the same behavior problems as the Elite program. It includes 3 private lessons (for the year), lifetime access to group classes, a 1-hour pickup session, discounted boarding rates, and an E-collar valued at $200.

Group classes are offered weekly for dogs that have completed the Elite or Einstein programs. Elite program dogs receive 3 months of group class access, while Einstein program dogs receive lifetime access. These classes involve working with dogs and other owners through obstacle courses, practicing commands around distractions.

Policies

Kaliber Canine operates as a secured facility, requiring appointments for all visits. For boarding, dogs must be up-to-date on their Rabies vaccine, with other vaccines highly recommended by a vet; titer tests are accepted. They accept dogs that have not been spayed or neutered.

For board and train programs, owners must bring enough food for the dog’s stay, any medication, and vaccination records (Rabies required, others highly recommended). Toys, beds, or other personal belongings are not permitted as the facility provides everything needed. Training duration is results-based, not time-based, and they do not charge more if a dog requires additional time.

Owners are not permitted to visit their dogs during a board and train program to avoid setting back the training or rehabilitation process and to prevent interruptions to other dogs’ training. While they cannot guarantee 100% obedience due to external factors like owner consistency, they offer solutions like free group classes for Elite and Einstein program graduates to help maintain training and address issues at home. They aim for an ongoing working relationship with clients.
