Kasie’s Canine Academy

Kasie’s Canine Academy offers various training programs tailored to individual dog needs. Private Training packages (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are custom sessions conducted at home or in public, focusing on owner education and addressing behaviors from basic obedience to advanced off-leash work and problem behaviors like jumping or potty training. Homework is required between sessions.

The Board and Train program allows dogs to stay with the trainers for intensive, custom training, ranging from 3-4 weeks for puppies (socialization, kennel, potty, basic manners) to 3+ weeks for adult dogs (basic obedience, behavior modification, advanced off-leash). Owners are encouraged to be involved with halfway sessions and follow-up sessions.

Day Training is a weekday drop-off program for past/current clients needing daycare, puppies needing safe socialization, or those needing more training than private lessons. Group classes are 6-week sessions covering basic obedience (sit, down, heel, recall, stay) in a group setting, not recommended for dogs with major aggression or reactivity.

Pricing Summary

Puppy Board and Train costs $2,300 for 3-4 weeks (8-19 weeks old). Adult dog Board and Train ranges from $2,700 to $3,700+ for 3+ weeks, covering basic to advanced obedience and behavior modification. Private training packages include BRONZE ($450 for 3 sessions), SILVER ($680 for 5 sessions), and GOLD ($1,000 for 8 sessions). Group classes are $200 for 6 sessions. Boarding for clients is $45 per day, with an option to add refresher training for $75.

All packages require a non-refundable deposit upon booking (25% for private/group, $500 for board and train). For board and train, 50% of the remaining payment is due at drop-off and the other 50% when the dog returns home. All other packages require full payment by the first session. Discounts are offered for multi-dog households.

Policies

A non-refundable deposit is required for all packages upon booking. For private and group classes, a 25% non-refundable deposit is due. For board and train programs, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required.

There is a $50 cancellation fee for canceling or rescheduling private sessions within 24 hours. For group classes, there is no rescheduling if a session is missed.

Kasie’s Canine Academy offers professional dog training services, aiming to bridge the communication gap between humans and their dogs. They utilize balanced training techniques, incorporating all four quadrants of operant conditioning, and do not use a “cookie cutter” approach, tailoring training to each individual dog’s needs. Their goal is to improve the relationship between owners and their dogs by teaching owners to understand behavior and communicate properly. They use both positive reinforcement (treats/toys) and corrections, waiting until the dog understands before implementing corrections. They believe in teaching dogs what is unacceptable, sometimes involving corrective tools, and do not train in a “purely positive” way, stating that positivity alone is insufficient for dangerous habits.

Kasie, the founder, has been training professionally for 10 years, starting in 2014. Her challenging dog, Sissie, inspired her journey, and her other dogs, Brandy and Osa, led her into nose work and service dog training. Kasie works with a nonprofit, Paws To Serve Heroes, training service dogs for veterans and first responders using rescue dogs. She enjoys taking on “difficult” cases, believing there are no bad dogs and never turning one away.

Beyond training, Kasie’s Canine Academy also runs a foster dog program to give dogs a second chance, training and rehoming them. They also offer exclusive boarding services for their clients and a day training program.

Accomplishments

Kasie Maynard has been training professionally for 10 years, starting in 2014.
