Testimonials

Have been bringing my dogs here for many years. The instructors are great and very helpful. We are now in an intermediate class and my dog loves it. We are learning so many more new and fun things. We will definitely keep moving up and continuing with our training and looking forward to it.

I adore the people at the Kenosha Kennel Club. They are serious about getting your dog up to par with obedience training at many different levels and ages. They also will test for Canine Good Citizen for the AKC. Aside from training they really try to get to know the owners and help you to the best of their ability. Will definitely come back with all my future dogs.

About the Trainer

Kenosha Kennel Club is a non-profit community organization based in Kenosha, Wisconsin, offering group dog training classes for puppies, basic obedience, advanced obedience, rally, and conformation handling. Founded in 1969, the club provides training for both purebred and mixed-breed dogs, with a focus on positive, hands-on instruction using verbal and hand praise. Classes are held at their dedicated training facility on 85th Street and are led by a team of 12 volunteer trainers with over 150 years of combined experience. The club follows the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and offers Canine Good Citizen testing. They do not use electronic or prong collars in puppy and basic classes, but chain slip collars are provided and taught in basic obedience. Treats are allowed in puppy classes but phased out by 6 months of age; basic classes rely solely on praise and play. The club also hosts an annual all-breed dog show and supports therapy dog programs. Classes are kept small (8–12 dogs) to ensure individual attention, and all dogs must have up-to-date vaccination records. The club welcomes dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages, including seniors, and encourages community involvement through demonstrations and events.

They offer ongoing weekly group classes with no private, in-home, or board-and-train services. Training is conducted exclusively at their facility, and they do not provide grooming, boarding, walking, or pet supply services beyond training and event hosting.

Accomplishments

Hosts the annual 72nd All-Breed Dog Show since 1969. Offers AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen certification. Maintains a breeders directory and participates in community events and demonstrations. Trainers have over 150 combined years of experience.
