KK9 Dog Training offers a variety of programs including group classes, private lessons, drop-in walks, and supervised play groups.

Group classes include: “Training Consultation” (30-minute session), “Hike & Train” (outdoor training), “Manners Matter” (basic obedience for dogs 4 months and up, covering skills like Sit, Stay, Come When Called, Leave It), and “Puppy Primer” (socialization and foundation for 8-14 week old puppies, focusing on early skills). “Drink & Train” is a class held at a local brewery to practice public manners. More advanced group classes are offered, structured like academic levels: “Learning to Learn” (for anxious dogs, limited to 2 dogs), “High School” (beyond basic obedience, including AKC Canine Good Citizen skills), “Junior College” (for young, exuberant dogs focusing on impulse control), and “Bachelors” (advanced obedience).

Private training is available in-home, hybrid (in-home and online), or fully virtual. These sessions address specific behavioral issues such as house manners, leash pulling, reactivity, and anxiety, with personalized training plans. “Walks +” provides 30 or 60-minute drop-in visits for dogs needing activity and attention, including walks, training games, and enrichment. “Play & Learn” groups offer supervised socialization for dogs, while teaching owners to interpret canine body language and social cues.

Policies

Proof of up-to-date vaccinations is required before the first session of any private training or class. For group classes, tuition holds a spot, and refunds are not issued for missed sessions, though make-up sessions may be possible if space allows. A 50% refund (minus fees) is available for withdrawal from group classes due to health issues or emergency circumstances.

For private training, there is a $50 rescheduling fee due to high demand. No refunds are provided for private session packages. Packages are valid for a duration equal to the number of sessions times two (e.g., 4 sessions are valid for 8 weeks from the date of purchase), and unused sessions are forfeited after expiration.

The use of prong, choke, electronic, bungee, or flexi-collars is not permitted at KK9 Dog Training. All minors must be accompanied by an adult due to liability concerns. KK9 Dog Training reserves the right to offer a more appropriate training setting if a dog would benefit from a different class.

Testimonials

“I can’t even begin to tell you how much one training session with KK9 improved Bruce’s behavior and my confidence. They gave me the tools to help make him a family member instead of a project. Everyday is better, every training session shows improvements. Bruce is a happier dog because of the training tips we received. I can’t thank KK9 enough for their patience, kindness and calm with Bruce and myself.”
– Deborah Kropp

“I had no idea how smart my dog was until I found KK9! They met us where we were at both literally and figuratively. It turns out that you can teach an old dog new tricks. There is still work to be done but just 4 sessions with KK9 provided an absolute breakthrough.”
– Celene Van Buren

“When I got Beau 5 months ago, I searched and searched online for some group classes where I could get him and me the training we needed to make our walks less stressful when other dogs came into sight. Many trainers will only do private sessions, but that is not what I wanted. I found very few who do group lessons, especially for reactive dogs, at a price that I could afford. When I happened on your website, I felt truly blessed”
