Policies

For seminars, a 25% nonrefundable deposit is required to secure a spot, with full payment due by the hard closing date. Participants are permitted to sell or transfer their spots to friends.

For classes and private lessons, a refund may be granted up to 24 hours before the first session. Refunds requested within 24 hours of the first session or after are not guaranteed and are decided by the owners. Payment for classes and lessons is expected in full before the start date. For the puppy program, up to two make-up classes are allowed with at least 24 hours’ notice.

All dogs must be on a current veterinarian-approved vaccine schedule, with records uploaded to the client’s profile. Prong collars and training chains may be used only with prior approval from a KraftyK9 instructor, except for conformation students who are typically required to use chains. Head halters, harnesses, and other walking aids are approved. Retractible/flexi leashes are generally not allowed; clients should bring a solid 4-6 foot leash.

Dogs must be treated respectfully and positively; physical punishment, hitting, spanking, or purposeful yanking on collars is not permitted. Crates are not to be used for punishment. Dogs are not allowed to bark uncontrollably or unnecessarily, except when working in high arousal states like agility or rodeo dog. Clients must pick up after their dogs in designated grass areas, and dogs are strictly prohibited from relieving themselves on the building or manmade objects. Dogs must remain on leash at all times unless otherwise instructed in a group session or when using agility equipment. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an extra adult and are not permitted to wander, pet other dogs, or run in the building. If a child under 8 will be training a dog in class, this must be approved by a KraftyK9 instructor. Dogs are not to sniff or visit other dogs unless socialization is part of the class curriculum, and the instructor has reviewed the policies and procedures for this activity.
