Dog Training Methodology
Las Cruces Dock Diving & K9 Event Center offers structured training programs for dog sports. For agility, they provide 6-week classes held on Monday evenings by appointment, with limited class sizes. Participants must sign up with an instructor before paying.
For dock diving, they offer an Orientation Class, which is a mandatory 1 hour 30 minute session for first-time participants unless the dog has already earned a dock diving title. Following orientation, an Intro to Dock Diving 6-Week Class is available, consisting of one-hour sessions. Additionally, they offer Open Dock sessions for independent practice, which also require prior orientation and the dog to be comfortable jumping off the dock. Private 30-minute or 1-hour dock diving sessions are also available, with an instructor present if needed, and group rates can be arranged.

Policies
Classes have limited size, and prior sign-up with an instructor is required before payment for agility classes. For dock diving, an Orientation Class is mandatory for first-time participants unless the dog has a dock diving title, and this orientation is a prerequisite for the 6-week Intro class and Open Dock sessions.
Strict facility rules include mandatory potty breaks before entry, a $5 cleanup fee for indoor accidents, and dogs must be leashed unless actively training or on the dock. Prohibited equipment includes flexi-leads, chain, prong, and shock collars. Dogs must not be tied up. Owners must provide current vaccination records (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper) and ensure dogs are free of illness. Feeding is prohibited 3 hours before pool time, and dogs must wear a float coat in the pool. Female dogs in heat are never allowed, and dogs cannot use the pool within 48 hours of flea/tick preventative application. Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave, and the pool is exclusively for dogs.
