Testimonials

“Jacqueline is an awesome trainer and her programs are so much fun for both dogs and their humans. Leia has taken Beginning and Intermediate Obedience in the park and Leia and Chewie have both gone to Puppy Socials at the studio. We are currently working on taking the CGC – Canine Good Citizen test for Leia. I like the option of lessoning in the park where there are more distractions for the dogs. It’s also nice that the dogs can mingle before or after class… Her methods work and they work right away, but you do have to keep practicing with your four-legged friend.”

“Jackie is the best trainer around. I have trained all my dogs with her. My black female standard poodle was so afraid of people and everything around her I could not even pet her. Jackie worked with her using her big cat theories and low and behold she started coming around. My female Simone now has many titles in Obedience and Rally and also is a therapy dog… Because Of Jacqueline all my dogs but the new one have CGC, CGCA, and CGCU Titles.”

“Our puppy has attended puppy great start class, puppy socialization and most recently beginner’s tricks class. We’ve had great experiences with all classes with both Jacqueline and Jo Anne at la’s dog trainer. The tricks class with Jo Anne was particularly great as it helped us build a training relationship with our puppy in a fun way… Highly recommend this company and it’s trainers.”

About the Trainer

Jacqueline Gaillard is a dog trainer in Los Angeles with degrees in Exotic Animal Training, Animal Behavior Management, Wildlife Education, and Sociology. She has over 18 years of experience working with dogs and cats, starting as a teenager as a pet sitter and walker on the West Side of LA. She uses positive reinforcement methods, the same approach she applies to training exotic animals like bears, wolves, and parrots, to help dogs with behavior modification, obedience, and socialization. Her services include private sessions, group classes, board and train programs, puppy socialization, agility training, and AKC Canine Good Citizen testing. She tailors training to each dog’s personality and needs, avoiding cookie-cutter approaches. She also offers guidance for families considering a new pet and provides precision timing workshops to improve handler skills.

Jacqueline trains dogs of all ages and sizes, including reactive, fearful, and aggressive dogs, and offers specialized programs for separation anxiety, barking, jumping, leash pulling, and recall. She emphasizes building confidence and secure behavior through understanding animal motivation. Her facility in Studio City hosts indoor and outdoor group classes, and she also offers private socialization sessions and hikes. She extends her expertise to cats, birds, and other exotic pets, but dog training remains her primary focus.

Accomplishments

Jacqueline holds degrees in Exotic Animal Training, Animal Behavior Management, Wildlife Education, and Sociology. She has trained a wide range of animals including bears, wolves, hyenas, monkeys, and birds of prey. Her clients’ dogs have earned AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), CGCA, and CGCU titles, and multiple dogs have become certified therapy dogs under her guidance.
