Laska Dog Training

Day Training includes 3 weekly training sessions by Johanna at the client’s home, plus a weekly handover session to teach the owner how to continue training, followed by 2 post-program follow-up sessions. Private Training includes 10 weekly 60-minute sessions with personalized coaching, homework, and a customized plan. Both programs focus on behavior modification and foundational skills tailored to the dog’s needs.

Pricing Summary

Jump Start Consultation: $175 for 60 minutes. Day Training: $2,300 for 14 sessions over 3 weeks (3 training sessions + 3 handover sessions + 2 follow-ups). Private Training: $1,900 for 10 weekly 60-minute sessions.

Laska Dog Training is a force-free, science-based dog training service founded by Johanna Hadam, a certified trainer and animal welfare advocate. Johanna offers personalized training for puppies and adult dogs in the East Bay, focusing on building confidence, improving behavior, and strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners. She provides two main service options: Day Training, where she trains the dog at home while the owner is away, and Private Training, where she coaches owners to train their dogs themselves through weekly sessions. Her methods are rooted in positive reinforcement, supported by leading veterinary and training organizations, and tailored to address issues like fearfulness, reactivity, leash pulling, potty training, and resource guarding. Johanna’s own rescue dog, Laska, is a living testament to the effectiveness of compassionate, reward-based training. She also offers a Jump Start Consultation to help clients choose the right program.

Johanna brings over a decade of hands-on experience from working in animal shelters, rescues, and kennels across the Bay Area, and she holds a Certification in Training and Counseling (CTC) from the Academy for Dog Trainers. Her approach is kind, organized, and highly communicative, with follow-up sessions included to ensure long-term success. Clients appreciate her ability to adapt to each dog’s pace and her willingness to collaborate with veterinarians when needed.

Accomplishments

Johanna holds a Certification in Training and Counseling (CTC) from the Academy for Dog Trainers. She has volunteered extensively in Bay Area animal shelters and rescues, taught group classes at Berkeley Humane, and attended major dog training conferences including PPG Summit, Clicker Expo, and Aggression in Dogs Conference. Her rescue dog Laska earned AKC Trick titles and a Canine Good Citizen certificate.
