Testimonials
Shot a beautiful buck on 10/16 around 9:30am. Shot went a little far back causing deer to run then slowly walk back to woods. After tracking for 150+ yards and losing blood I decided to call in the experts.
From first contact with Steven he was immediately on the ball.
Asked/answered every question that I had.
Steven met me out at the property around 10:30pm and we instantly went to work.
Kion smelled around the last known blood and then received Steven’s command of “Find our buck”
Just like that Kion was in full on work mode.
After tracking/jumping this deer for close to 2 hours Kion found him
Such an amazing experience watching this dynamic duo do their job.
Although I hope I never have to utilize Steven and Kion again
I do know without a doubt they will be the first that I contact if needed
Thanks again Steven and Kion!
Pleasure working with you and seeing you do your thing!

I would like to thank Last Chance Deer Tracker for an Amazing experience. The retrieving of our Buck was just a bonus. My experience started with a Google search and phone call. From the moment they took my call and guided me through the next steps of what to do and what to expect, the adventure started.
The most amazing performance was the work done by the dog! I was absolutely overwhelmed with the dog’s ability. From the first scent of our buck to our tracker giving the command “find our buck!” That little dog tracked our buck for miles. Once he was within a range of buck he let us know with the first bark of the night.
After many times the dog found our deer and the deer pushed on, our team finally outlasted the buck. With the guidance of our tracker, we were prepared when the buck finally tried to take a rest, we fired the shot to finish the hunt. Thank you!

About the Trainer
Steve and his 4-year-old dachshund, Kion, provide specialized blood tracking services for deer hunters using a trained dog to locate wounded game. The service is focused on ethically recovering game after a hunt, not general dog obedience or behavior training. Steve guides hunters through post-shot assessment questions to improve tracking success and responds to calls for on-site tracking. The dog is trained specifically for scent tracking of blood trails, not for general pet training or public obedience. This is a niche service for hunters, not a typical dog training business for pet owners.
While the business is labeled as “Dog Training,” the training provided is exclusively for a single working dog used in deer recovery, not for training pet dogs owned by the public. Dog owners seeking training for their own pets will not find applicable services here.
The service includes on-site tracking with the dog after a deer is shot, with Steve providing guidance and support during the recovery process. The dog is not available for public training sessions or group classes.
The business does not offer training for pet dogs, behavior modification, or any standard dog training programs for dog owners.
The service is not a general dog trainer but a game recovery specialist using a trained tracking dog.
The business does not provide services to help dog owners train their own dogs.
This is a specialized tracking service, not a dog training business for pet owners.
Accomplishments
