Leaps & Hounds offers private lessons and group classes for puppy and adult dog training. Private puppy lessons are an hour long and can be held at the client’s home or in the community. Private adult dog lessons are tailored to the dog’s specific needs and scheduled at the client’s convenience. Behavior modification services are available for dogs with issues beyond basic obedience and are handled on a case-by-case basis.

About the Trainer
Leaps & Hounds is a dog training business based out of San Rafael, CA, owned and operated by Aryn Hervel. Aryn began training dogs at age 14 as a volunteer puppy raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Since then, she has worked with service dogs and trained dogs with serious behavior problems, as well as pet dogs of all ages and breeds.
Leaps & Hounds offers private lessons and group classes for puppy and adult dog training. Private lessons can be held at your home or anywhere in your community where your dog needs training, such as a dog park, trail, or even at the groomer’s or vet’s. Behavior modification services are also available for dogs with issues beyond basic obedience, handled on a case-by-case basis.
Aryn is certified as a Trainer and Behavior Counselor through the Dog Training Academy at the San Francisco SPCA with Honors, and was among the first trainers nationally to become a Certified Pet Dog Trainer through the CCPDT. She is a longtime member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and regularly attends lectures and conferences for continuing education.
