Policies

Clients can cancel any reservation or appointment through the client portal if outside the cancellation cut-off time. For phone evaluations, cancellations or rescheduling are free up to 24 hours prior; no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours can be rescheduled as an in-studio evaluation for a $45 fee. In-studio evaluation fees are non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours or if the client does not show up.

Day Training and Dog School reservations can be cancelled through the close of business the previous day; cancellations after this time will be charged as a normal day. Private Lessons may be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the appointment time; no-shows and cancellations within 48 hours will be charged as a normal lesson or deducted from a package. If multiple private lessons are cancelled from a package, the refund is calculated by charging the full individual lesson rate for sessions used and refunding the remainder.

Group Classes and Workshops are 100% refundable if requested at least 72 hours prior to the start of class; after this point, they are non-refundable or transferable. Group classes require a minimum of 4 students to proceed, and classes with low attendance will be cancelled with a full refund. Leash Free Living reserves the right to reschedule classes due to inclement weather, with make-up sessions typically added the week following the end of class. They also reserve the right to remove disruptive students or dogs, with remaining class credits applicable to a different training program. No make-up sessions are offered for group classes, but students can retake missed weeks in a later session or schedule a 30-minute private session with an apprentice trainer for $50.

For Tag-Along (Board & Train), a 50% deposit is required. This deposit is fully refunded if the stay is cancelled at least 7 days in advance; otherwise, it is non-refundable. For all services, in cases of emergency or illness, clients are encouraged to contact the business as soon as possible, and typically no charge is applied, though the business reserves the right to charge according to policies for multiple emergency/illness cancellations. Unused portions of Day Training packages can be refunded, but the package is voided, and used days are charged at the single day rate.

To get started, new clients can set up a free phone evaluation, which typically takes 15-30 minutes with a Leash Free Living Instructor.
