Testimonials
Really wanted to love Longsnouts, as I appreciate her modern, progressive/dog-centered, and positive methods. Unfortunately communication is nearly impossible; emails go unanswered, website and calendar are out of date and difficult to navigate.

Went to a few of her outdoor group classes about 10 years ago. It was a bit chaotic as she and her assistant would make their rounds to each handler. I did learn from her the idea of pairing triggers with food to make positive associations. Most of the class was tossing treats onto the grass. I definitely understand, appreciate and use this method. It is important to expose dogs to the environment and her class was good for this. She made sure that the dogs were spread far enough apart.
I agree with another person’s sentiment that structure was lacking. I imagine she has developed/improved on this respect over the years.
I brought my own dehydrated treats and was not comfortable with Hannah giving hot dogs/cheese as rewards. I explained that my dog was on a raw diet and expressed my desire to not use highly processed food.
Hannah gaslit me very loudly with her assistant. I distinctly remember the sarcasm and mockery of “Oh, my dog’s on a RAW diet” and “too good” for hot dogs/cheese. As a professional that dog parents put their full trust into, maybe she was maybe new at running her business and unaware of the lasting effect this had on me. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don’t know.
She could have explained that using hotdogs and the like were used only for especially rare situations, or respected my desire to use my own treats, or considered that my dog could have reactions to these foods (which he did), or just respect my wishes of what my dog was ingesting.
What’s funny is after all these years, now she has her own dogs on raw.
I hope this trainer has learned to be more professional.

We’ve been working with Hannah for many months now and I recommend her to everyone! We chose her initially because we love her philosophy around training, see her website. She’s really, really good with dogs, plus she blends science with a deep understanding (and years of experience) of dog behavior. And her prices are reasonable. Plus she has an active FB group for us which is great.

Hannah was a savior for our family! We signed up for four in-home sessions to help us manage interactions between our toddler and our dog. After a few instances when our dog had snipped at our toddler, we were fairly nervous. Hannah was absolutely amazing in helping us restore our confidence in dealing with our dog. She is an absolute delight to work with and is incredibly knowledgeable about everything dog-related!

I feel terrible giving a small business owner such a bad review, but our experience with this company has been terrible and I feel like potential customers need to be warned. I initially signed up for a group class and paid for it online but due to a very confusing description of the class, i realized after I had paid that this class would not work for me. So I asked the company if they would refund me or else transfer my payment to a private session package. Communication took a very long time and was never very clear. Finally they responded after several weeks and we scheduled an in home session. The trainer was very nice and clearly knows about dogs, but there was no plan for the session and we basically did no training and she just chatted with us for 1.5 hours. She promised to follow up with an instructional email and to schedule further sessions. We never received an email and there has been no response to my inquiries. It’s been over a month now. Clearly this person needs help running a business! They are a good dog trainer, but a terrible business owner. Please invest in some help running the business side of things for you and your customers sake! Meanwhile we’re now still searching for a dog trainer.

The business emphasizes fun, mental enrichment, and low-stress environments, with a strong focus on nosework and canine fitness. Training is conducted outdoors in various locations across the service area, with some indoor options for specialized sessions.
Longsnouts also offers workshops, a book club, and resources for dog owners, including reading lists and training tips. They encourage the use of food, toys, and scent-based rewards and avoid forced interactions. Their approach is tailored to all dog types and ages, from puppies to seniors, and they accommodate dogs with special needs or sensitivities.
The business maintains an active social media presence on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, sharing training content and community updates. While some clients praise Hannah’s deep knowledge and compassionate methods, others have criticized inconsistent communication, outdated website information, and poor business operations.
Additional services include drop-in classes, play cards for flexible attendance, and single-class purchases. They do not offer boarding, grooming, or pet sitting.
Longsnouts is not a breeder, daycare, kennel, or pet store. Their core service is dog training through group classes and private sessions.
