Testimonials

As first time pet owners, we were in need of results based guidance as we raise our Mini Goldendoodle pup. Jennifer provided her positive reinforcement expertise in a very effective and positive manner in the comfort of our own home. We would highly recommend her to anyone in need of such assistance!
– First-time Pet Owners

Meeting Jen made an incredible difference in our lives. She was not our first attempt at training for our dog. Incomplete course at pet store. We were turned down by a few trainers and then contacted Jen. Our dog is a rescue, and she was highly reactive to other dogs and loud noises. Jen’s training sessions and knowledge were what we needed. Our pack is very happy. 100 out of 10.
– Rescue Dog Owner

I highly recommend Love For Paws! Jennifer has worked wonders with our very wild Goldendoodle pup! She is extremely patient, thorough, and really takes the time to answer all of our questions. Whenever we have a concern with our dog’s behavior, she is always available to offer valuable advice and solutions. We love her gentle, rewards based approach to training, and have seen great results. Overall it has been a great experience for the entire family to work with her!

About the Trainer

Love For Paws is a family-owned dog training business based in Richmond, VA, founded by Jennifer Damon and Aaron Friscia. They offer in-home and remote video-based dog training using gentle, force-free, reward-based methods to address behaviors like leash reactivity, separation anxiety, fearfulness, resource guarding, potty training, and puppy manners. Their training takes place in the client’s home to target problem behaviors where they occur, and they also provide remote sessions via Zoom, Skype, or phone for convenience. Jennifer holds a diploma in Canine Behavior Consulting and is a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She continuously pursues education in applied behavior analysis, learning theory, and canine psychology. Aaron assists with training and brings his natural connection with animals to sessions, often bringing their social dog, Jupiter, to help with reactivity cases. They prioritize strengthening the human-dog bond and teach clients to understand dog body language. They are fully licensed, insured, and vaccinated, and wear masks upon request.
