Lucky Star Dog Training offers a balanced and holistic approach, focusing on communication, trust, and respect. They provide a 3-week Board & Train program conducted in a home setting, which includes a full lesson at the end, daily text check-ins for a week, and a follow-up lesson. Private Lessons are also available, tailored to individual needs and conducted at the client’s rhythm.
Both the Board & Train and Private Lessons cover a basic obedience program including HEEL (on and/or off-leash), HEEL-SIT, SIT, DOWN, PLACE, LEAVE IT!, and COME HERE, practiced in various scenarios. They also address manners and behavior issues. E-collar training is offered for off-leash control, emphasizing finding the lowest level the dog notices and working in balance with positive reinforcement.
Puppy Imprinting is available for puppies up to 6 months, covering basic obedience, proper socialization with humans and dogs, and behavior prevention. “Tricks & Treats” uses clicker training, based on operant conditioning and positive reinforcement, to teach basic obedience and advanced tricks, promoting bonding and mental stimulation.

Pricing Summary
Board & Train: 1 dog for $3000, 2 dogs for $5800. Refresher (for existing clients only): 1 week for $650, Mini Refresher (3 days minimum) for $95/day. Private Lesson: 1 hour for $120. Boarding (24H): 1 dog for $50, 2 dogs for $90, 3 dogs for $130. Daycare: 1 session for 1 dog is $35, 6 sessions for 1 dog is $180. For 2 dogs, 1 session is $50, 6 sessions is $255. For 3 dogs, 1 session is $75, 6 sessions is $380. Holiday pricing will apply, and pricing may be subject to change.

“Jen is amazing. I took my 100 pound Great Pyrenees pup, Lucy, to her for an intensive three week training and the results were incredible. If you know Pyrenees, you know they are VERY stubborn. Prior to her training, Lucy couldn’t be off leash because her recall was terrible. We’d call her name and she’d just completely ignore us. We would take her to hike and swim but always had to keep her on her leash which was no fun for us or her! Now, we go hiking/swimming almost every weekend and Lucy gets to frolic freely like every happy pup wants to do. I’ve also referred a number of my friend’s pups to Jen and they’ve all had wonderful things to say as well! Aside from that, we’ve continued to use Jen for boarding when we go out of town and Lucy absolutely adores her. She is literally so excited every time we pull up to “Aunt Jen’s” house. Jennifer Higgins, owner of Lucky Star Dog Training, is a certified canine behavioral specialist who provides dog training, boarding, and daycare services. The business operates from a home environment, aiming to offer a relaxing, safe, and clean space where every dog feels welcomed and comfortable.
Their philosophy is built on communication, trust, and respect, with the goal of helping dog owners and their pets achieve a more harmonious life together. They believe in understanding dog psychology and offer a balanced approach to training.
Unique advantages include trainer-supervised playtime, walks, outings, and plenty of individual attention for boarded and daycare dogs. The home setting for boarding and board & train programs is designed to make transitions smooth for dogs. Jennifer also volunteers her time to train rescue dogs.
Accomplishments
Jennifer Higgins, owner of Lucky Star Dog Training, is originally from Paris, France. She is a certified canine behavioral specialist and a graduate of Triple Crown Academy. She is specially trained in Dog Behavior and Psychology, Obedience Training, Service, Scent Detection, Retrieving, and Protection work.
Jennifer has studied with behaviorists in Europe and spent time working with retrievers to further her education in Dog Behavior and Remote Collar communication. She is Pet CPR and First Aid trained. She continues to attend workshops and seminars given by top trainers and behaviorists in the country who incorporate cognitive behavioral psychology.

Clients are encouraged to contact Lucky Star Dog Training with any questions. For boarding services, a meet and greet is offered to help the pup get familiar with the environment. The training programs include a 3-week Board & Train program or Private Lessons.
