Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Positive Reinforcement Only

Lodge & Learn: An in-home, 1-on-1 training program for dogs struggling with issues like potty training, house manners, leash pulling, barking, digging, jumping, resource guarding, crate training, and desensitization. It aims to transform dogs from “tyranny” to “tranquility.”

The 2-week program includes daily training sessions, two 1-hour post-stay training sessions with the owner and dog, regular grade reports, and custom gear/tool recommendations. The 3-week program adds an extra 1-hour post-stay session and an option for Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluation for Pre-Service dog and Therapy Dog Partnership.

Private 1-on-1 Lessons: Designed for ambitious pet parents who have time to train. This program consists of six 1-on-1 lessons scheduled once a week. Lessons can take place at Lynn’s home, the pet parent’s home, or an outdoor location like a coffee shop.

Day School: A supervised program for safe dog socialization, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Lynn’s home in Atascadero, CA. Dogs are evaluated by Lynn prior to joining to ensure safety and must be able to play nicely with other dogs and humans.

Lodging: An in-home program where dogs are treated like family while owners are away. It offers high-quality care with certified dog trainers, including socialization with other dogs (including service dogs), daily interactive play, 7+ hours of outdoor activity, 1-on-1 interaction with Lynn, and opportunities to learn home manners.

Testimonials

“Everyone needs a ‘Lynn’ in their life. She’s an excellent communicator and met me where I was at with my dog. With my first puppy, I had no idea where to start. Without judgement, she helped potty train and build a daily structure for my dog (basset hound) to develop kind, playful, and gentle behaviors.”
– Josh

“I have never hesitated to bring my dog to her house. She has a very secure yard, safe house, and an honest, loyal, genuine personality. I would highly, highly recommend Lynn Parson if you need a safe place for your pet to stay for the day or for an extended period of time”
– Linda

“Lynn and her staff are so loving and caring with the dogs. We love the home environment instead of a usual kennel. Our golden loved staying with Lynn and would come home happy and exhausted. I love that Lynn sends videos of the dogs playing together. It’s great having a place where you know your dog is happy and well cared for. As an added bonus, Lynn is also a dog trainer – so you can schedule training time while your dog is being boarded! Highly recommend!!!”
– Margie
