Marigold Canine Coaching offers several training programs. The Board & Train program involves dogs staying at the trainer’s home on a securely fenced property, following an individualized structured plan that includes training, strategic interactions, hikes, dog sports, and enrichment activities. This program concludes with a private session for the owner to learn how to continue the training. Puppies under 8 months do not require an evaluation for this program.
Group courses for adult dogs and puppies are 1-hour classes held once per week at the trainer’s small dog training studio in rural Hollidaysburg, PA. These classes encourage immediate family members to attend and focus on foundational and intermediate skills like handler engagement, distraction management, recall, leash training, and tricks. Reactive or extremely fearful dogs are not permitted in group classes but are directed to private sessions.
Field Trips are a 4-hour drop-off service providing enrichment and light training, including long line walks at Canoe Creek State Park, focusing on recall, impulse control, and self-regulation. The Holistic Foundations program consists of three 1.5-hour private sessions designed to help owners find balance with their dog by focusing on meeting needs, self-regulation, understanding behaviors, and evaluating diet and environment for a comprehensive wellness plan. This program is suitable for behavior management/modification and fundamental training for new dogs. Single private training sessions are available for refreshers, building on behaviors, or addressing simple issues like house training, and can include puppy socialization.

Testimonials
“I would 100% recommend Meg! My husband and I started to have trouble with our two male labs randomly fighting after getting along for two years. We were frustrated and confused. That is when we turned to Meg! She was so quick with her reply and we were able to get in with her to begin the training. She was able to evaluate both dogs and gave us the explanation behind our dogs behaviors and the tips/tricks to deal with it going forward. I love that she uses positive training and teaches you the dog dialog. We have continually worked on the steps she gave us and our dogs have not had a fight since! We are thankful for her not only helping us through the process but actually explaining the “why” behind it all! I could keep going on about our positive experience, but i’ll end it with if you want results go to Marigold Holistic Pet Care!”
– Christie Wassell, Blue & Buck
“My dog, Ruby, was so overstimulated that it was difficult to walk or play with her. She was constantly nipping at my sleeves and pant legs, rolling around and bolting while on-leash, and had uncontrolled ‘zoomies’ where she would come barreling at me full speed. Meg did a great job spending time with Ruby and assessing just what Ruby needed. Meg was extremely helpful in teaching us appropriate calming signals and techniques. Meg gave me the tools to keep working with Ruby at home, and it has made a HUGE difference. Ruby is calmer and happier, and so am I. Our household is more harmonious. I highly recommend this compassionate trainer for you and your dog.”
– Lynn Kurtz & Ruby
“Megan really takes the time to help you understand the “why” behind the training techniques. She talks through some all-too-common training myths and mistakes to avoid. You can tell she is passionate about giving her clients all the tools to succeed in creating a mutually beneficial relationship between “owner” and doggo. We are really happy we booked a private session with her. We came away knowing more about the specific breed we adopted and having a better idea of how to work with our new dog to develop a great relationship. She also gave us some tips on ways to play with our working-breed dog to keep her engaged and fulfilled. We would absolutely recommend Marigold Holistic Pet Care to anyone wanting to learn how to have the best relationship with their four-legged family member, and we will definitely book more sessions in the future.”
