Maverick’s K9 offers Day School Programs, Private Lessons, and Custom Programs. The Day School Programs include:
The Mavi: A top program for advanced and off-leash obedience, including 20 day school days, 10 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.
The Xena: For well-balanced, social, neutral dogs, including 15 day school days, 8 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.
The Harper: Focused on basic obedience for the perfect house dog, including 15 day school days, 8 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.
The Winston: Focuses on leash manners with reactivity, fearfulness, or over-excitement, including 10 day school days, 10 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.

Private Lesson Programs include:
The Skyler: For well-balanced, social, neutral dogs, including 8 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.
The Frida: Focused on basic obedience for the perfect house dog, including 6 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.
The Reign: A top program for advanced and off-leash obedience, including 10 private lessons, 2 free follow-ups, and basic training equipment.

The Rogue is a Hybrid Program, a complete custom program designed specifically for the dog’s needs and owner’s goals.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

The business offers a wide variety of training packages tailored to specific dog needs and family goals. Cancellation policies are in place for day trains and private lessons. Day trains cancelled within the drop-off window incur a $15 fee, while no-shows or cancellations after drop-off result in full payment. For private lessons, a $10 cancellation fee applies for cancellations within 1 hour of the scheduled time, and no-shows result in full payment. Weather conditions and emergencies are considered.

Policies

Clients are asked to request desired school days a week in advance. Requests made less than a week out are not guaranteed. Day trains must be cancelled before the 7:30 am drop-off window to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations within the drop-off window incur a $15 fee, and no-shows or cancellations after drop-off result in full payment.

For private lessons, at least 2 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation. Lessons cancelled within 1 hour of the scheduled time incur a $10 cancellation fee, and no-shows result in full payment. Weather conditions and emergencies are always considered. Drop-off for day trains is 7:30 am-9:30 am, with a late drop-off window until 10:00 am. No dogs are permitted after 10:00 am. Pick-up is 4:00 pm-6:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 4:00 pm-5:30 pm on Friday. All dogs must be fully vaccinated, with proof required before starting a program. Dogs boarded at another facility must wait at least 7 days before returning to Maverick’s K9.

Maverick’s K9 empowers owners by providing the necessary education and tools for a harmonious relationship. They blend clear communication with positive reinforcement and balanced techniques to ensure dogs are well-behaved, happy, confident, and fulfilled. The business was founded as a nonprofit with a mission to support the dog community, particularly by donating to Malinois rescues and other shelters quarterly. They also offer training to families or dogs facing difficult circumstances.

Accomplishments

Victoria Schwiederek, Founder & Head Trainer, began training at 18. She holds a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in animal behavior and has nine years of experience through internships, specialized courses, seminars, and 1:1 experiences with industry trainers. Her dog, Maverick, despite being partially blind, achieved advanced and off-leash obedience, over 25 tricks, and scent detection certification.

Gisell Gomez, Owner & Head Trainer, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Communications. She transitioned to dog training after working through her own dog Winston’s behavioral struggles, gaining experience through internships, certifications, courses, and hands-on work. Maverick’s K9 was founded as a nonprofit and donates to a rescue or shelter every quarter.
