Mavis K9 Academy offers customized, balanced training programs. Their Board and Train program is a two-week intensive program where dogs are housed in individual climate-controlled kennels indoors. Owners participate in an in-person training session after the first week. Scent Work training is a five-week course covering imprinting of odors, conducting searches in various environments, and problem-solving, utilizing AKC and UKC scents. All services require Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella vaccinations.

The Board and Train program costs $1,500, with a deposit required for reservation. Puppy Orientation and Basic Obedience Plans are each $350 for five private lessons. The Advanced lesson package is $600 for five private lessons. Private lessons are available at $65 per hour. Scent Work training is $500 for a five-week course. Greg Anderson, the owner and trainer, is a lifelong dog enthusiast who began working with dogs in high school. He honed his skills under a renowned sport dog trainer in Southern Indiana, gaining experience in breeding programs, puppy development, and specialized training. He has a background in law enforcement, industry, and secondary education.

Greg has attended numerous training seminars by top professionals and has a special affinity for working with shelter and rescue dogs, as well as working breeds. He has an in-depth understanding of dog behavior, particularly aggression and anxiety, from years of hands-on experience. He volunteered as Communications and Fundraising Director for a working dog rescue organization and continues to work with animal shelters. Greg is also trained as a decoy and participates in working dog events for law enforcement, military, and private contracting.
