Dog Training Methodology
Meeting Post Farm offers herding lessons and herding clinics on ducks and sheep. Training may occur in an expanded stall area during winter for ducks, while sheep work is dependent on footing and weather conditions.
About the Trainer
Meeting Post Farm is a small hobby farm that specializes in herding lessons and clinics for dogs on ducks and sheep. Their facility is well-equipped for herding activities, featuring a 6-acre open field, a 60-foot control pen, a 50×100-foot duck arena, a 20×20-foot take pen, and a 120×200-foot arena.
Carol Donnelly, a licensed AKC herding judge with over 15 years of experience, leads the training. She works with you and your dog as partners, teaching you the art of herding with a methodical approach to help you achieve your herding goals. Carol successfully trains all breeds, including both upright and eyed dogs.
Accomplishments
Carol Donnelly has been a licensed AKC herding judge for over 15 years, covering all types of herding including tending, ranch, arena, and open field. She has expanded into open field trial (USBCHA) training and chore work with her Border Collie, Never.
Carol has successfully trialed her Pembroke Welsh Corgis, bringing many to Advanced levels of competition in both AKC and ASCA. She trained her dog Belli to the Herding Championship level, making Belli the first triple champion Pembroke Welsh Corgi in breed history. Belli’s daughter, Amelia, is also a triple champion, with Belli and Amelia being two of only three PWCs to achieve this goal.
