Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
Equipment:
- ✓ Obstacle Courses
Menifee Dog Sports offers several training programs. The Basic Obedience course is an 8-week program covering heel, sit, down, stand, recall, and stays, teaching handlers to address undesirable reactive behaviors and train their dogs for appropriate behavior at home and in public.
The Beginning Agility class is a 6-week course focused on teaching agility in a safe environment, building trust between dog and handler, and introducing elements with professional equipment. Puppy Class provides fundamentals and socialization for puppies aged 3-6 months, encouraging proper public behavior and instructing owners on primary obedience commands, leash training, sitting, introducing the down, and understanding dog body language.
The Conformation Class helps handlers practice skills to present their dog professionally, preparing both dog and handler for proper etiquette in and around ringside. This class is suitable for all experience levels, focusing on how to train a dog to show its best self and for the handler to pull the best performance.

Testimonials
“We have been attending Linda’s conformation classes for over a year. I can confidently say that we would not be the team we are without Linda’s expertise and knowledge when it comes to everything ‘dog’. She has taught us the correct speed for my dogs gait, how to hold the lead the correct way, how to free stack efficiently and most importantly, how to beautifully present your dog. There’s one thing Linda said to me that I think of every time we step into the ring – “You have 90 seconds with the judge. Make every second count!” I would recommend her classes to everyone. Every piece of advice has stuck with me and helped so much!”

“When our breeder told us we needed to take our pup to CONFIRMATION* class before she could show, we genuinely thought she was joking. Considering how naughty our adorable wound-up puppy was we were quite sure the breeder was teasing that our girl needed Hail Mary’s and the hand of God if she were ever going to enter a dog show. Suffice to say, we came to Linda’s CONFORMATION class knowing absolutely nothing about preparing and handling a dog for the big time. And boy did we hit the jackpot! Everything Linda taught us was spot on. From language, to gear, to technique – everything we practiced proved to be precisely what our professional handler and breeder expected our pup to comprehend. Linda is patient, clear and direct. She of course loves dogs. Her fees are completely reasonable. Her expertise evident. She is full of anecdotes—and solutions—for every situation you might encounter at a show, including the one where you trip and fall and have to get up and hobble back to the line, with your own dog looking at you side-eyed. Own the moment! We genuinely cannot recommend her more enthusiastically. We looked forward to every meetup and know that our girl learned more than just how to show. Simply being in the presence of other dogs at C.C.C. (canine conformation class), she built on her prior obedience training, gaining confidence and swagger. To Linda’s credit our pup became a Champion in just two dog show weekends. Following cues and maintaining presence, she genuinely seemed to be having fun every time she entered the ring. Thank you Linda!”

“I love Linda’s class. If you’re looking for an affordable class with a highly experienced trainer, this is the place. My black GSD is 4-1/2 years old and the most challenging rescue dog I’ve ever had. If he had been my first dog, I would have been a cat person. I adore him and I’m committed to his training but I had no experience with a dog like him. Despite having already completed several group classes and really really really expensive behavioral workshops with ‘famous’ (and infamous) trainers, his reactivity persisted. At orientation, I remember Linda saying “If you don’t give up on your dog, I won’t give up on you.” That outright commitment was much needed encouragement. My experience with less knowledgeable trainers was that they would cash the check, say things like “no dog is perfect” and stop calling back. Linda will teach you how to train your dog but she will not train the dog for you. I find that to be more valuable in the long run. My dog and I have really upped our obedience game (he even won a trophy!) but more importantly, I’m learning how to address his reactivity. I can literally feel how much happier he is when I walk him. We’re having more fun–including when other dogs are present. I get to praise him a ton and watch him beam. I’m super grateful for Linda’s guidance. She’s showing me who my dog really is and he’s pretty awesome. :)”
