Metropolitan K-9 offers various obedience programs tailored to different lifestyles, including in-home programs, in-board training programs, and day training options. Their goal is to make life with your canine companion easier and more rewarding, teaching basic obedience commands such as sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, come when called, and walking on a loose leash, both on and off-leash.
Their Doggie Daycare Camp offers three levels: Happy Camper (jump start, practice at home, 1 homework lesson, 2 weeks support), Proud Camper (bulk taught by trainer, 2 homework lessons, 3 weeks support), and Complete Camper (bulk taught by trainer, 2 homework lessons, 1 in-home lesson, 3 weeks support, bonus items). These programs run three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) for one, two, or three weeks, with dogs receiving up to 3 training sessions per day.
Home Schooling Dog Training (in-home) includes three levels: Star Student (jump start, practice at home, 1 homework lesson, 2 weeks support, bonus items), Teacher’s Pet (10 sessions, 1-2 sessions/week, 1 homework lesson, 3 weeks support, bonus items), and Dean’s List (15 sessions, 1-2 sessions/week, 1 homework lesson per session, 1 public lesson, 3 weeks support, bonus items, unlimited alumni sessions). Sessions are conducted at the client’s home once or twice a week, with homework provided after each session.
Overnight Dog Training Camp (board and train) offers two levels: Good Camper (3 weeks, bulk taught, 3-5 sessions/day, 3 free follow-ups, 2 homework lessons, 3 weeks support, bonus items) and Super Camper (5 weeks, bulk taught, 2 homework lessons, 1 in-home lesson, 3 weeks support, bonus items, unlimited alumni sessions). Dogs stay for 3 or 5 weeks, receiving up to 3 training sessions per day.
Protection Dog Training Programs include the Alarm Dog Program, which provides a fully obedience-trained dog (on and off-leash) that alerts behind a fence, at the door, or on leash to suspicious persons, serving as a deterrent without biting. The Personal Protection Dog Training Program trains dogs to the ultimate level of obedience, including engaging suspects with a proper bite and hold, releasing on command, recalling from a bite, redirecting attacks on multiple attackers, and repelling carjacking attempts, while being unfazed by blunt instrument hits or gunfire. A free evaluation is offered to determine a dog’s suitability for protection training.
Testimonials
“My name is Richard Herskovitz and I have a 3 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois named Axle. Axle is not a normal pet dog. He is a very highly trained service K9 and my competition dog. 99.999% of dog trainers would have no idea how to help with Axle’s training. I had heard about a trainer, Greg Williams of Metropolitan K9. After speaking to Greg I knew that he would be able to help continue and improve Axle’s training. Axle and I have been working with Greg 3 times a week for the past 3 months. Everything that I had heard about Greg was true. He is an extremely qualified and knowable dog trainer and decoy. Axle has improved as a result of Greg’s training and he is now ready to compete at the top levels of PSA. If anybody is thinking about having their dog trained I would highly recommend using Greg.”

“I want to thank you for the obedience training you did on my two pups. Today proved how valuable your dog training was. Evita slipped her collar in the middle of heavy traffic. All I could see was a tragedy unfolding in front of my eyes as she ran towards traffic. I called her to come and she spun around and ran right to me, sitting in front of me so that I could put her collar back on her neck. I was SO grateful for your training at that moment. Your training saved her life. She had no idea how much danger she was in as she ran towards the traffic. Your training allowed me to control her and save her from herself. And both pups are so happy to obey and respond to the commands. I am looking forward to working with you and your club and increasing both my skills and the pups skills in obedience and protection . Thanks again, Karen Wheeler”

“It’s been about a year since we got our newest addition, Blade, from you, and we just wanted to let you know that he’s everything you said he would be and everything we hoped. He’s an absolute rush to work! He has solid prey and civil drives, is “hard” without being handler “sharp,” and is always ready to train. Blade would be a prime candidate for an experienced sport handler and would be ideal for police patrol work. From the beginning we’ve thought he seemed more mature than his age would suggest, but we were still amazed when at only seventeen months old, we saw him handle a real-life threat with the confidence and stability of a much more experienced dog. Several of Paul’s clients and a number of other dog trainers in our area have approached us about purchasing Blade, and while we recognize and appreciate the compliment to Blade, we would never part with him because, in addition to having become a superior working dog, he has truly become an integral part of our family. When we get ready for our next dog, which will be a female, we will certainly come to Metropolitan K9.Best wishes,Melinda and Paul Bilecki”
