Testimonials

“Our twelve-year-old lab had surgery for herniated discs. During the recovery process, he had limited use of his rear hips and legs. We were so grateful to learn that Meyer’s had swim therapy. His legs have gotten stronger and he now maneuvers around our house on his own. It is truly a blessing that Meyer’s has been able to play an important role in his senior years.”
– Brenda, mom of Buckshot the Labrador

“Both Maggie and I think of Meyer’s Daycare as a valued part of our days. Meyer’s is family for Maggie while I am away at work. Your staff is outstanding!”
– Sharon, 6 Year Daycare Parent

“I highly recommend Meyers for anything. The staff are always professional, helpful, and knowledgeable with any questions I have. We feel like he is a member of the family and would not take him any place else.”
– Dawn, Proud parent of Baylee.

About the Trainer

Meyer’s Tails Up Farm is a comprehensive pet care facility offering a range of services beyond just dog training. They aim to help owners understand their dog’s language to strengthen their bond and improve their pet’s overall wellness. The facility emphasizes a custom plan approach for each dog, providing personalized attention and consistent feedback on progress.

They offer lodging options, doggy daycare, aquatics for physical conditioning and recovery, and grooming services. The owners, Kent and Gwen Meyer, are heavily involved, with Kent being a third-generation dog breeder and professional dog handler who has trained dogs for decades and shown top show dogs at national specialties and the Westminster Dog Show.

Their daycare program, established over 20 years ago, focuses on developing self-confident, well-rounded dogs through continuous training in human-to-dog and dog-to-dog relationships, with staff having over 100 years of combined experience and training from world-renowned canine behaviorists. They also provide transportation services.

Accomplishments

Kent Meyer is a third-generation dog breeder and has trained dogs for decades. He and Gwen have shown some of the US’s top show dogs, winning top awards at national specialties and the Westminster Dog Show. Kent, Gwen, and team members have trained with John Rogerson of England and the late Lee Mannix, a world-class canine behaviorist.

The daycare staff has over 100 years of combined training experience and has been voted #1 Dog Daycare in the region for three years running. Kent’s grandmother, Lorraine Meyer, was an esteemed Boxer breeder and AKC obedience judge. Nick Waters, their Pet Styling Leader, earned a place on GroomTeamUSA and is featured in their Hall of Fame as a TOP 10 stylist.

How to Get Started!

To get started, clients are encouraged to schedule a tour of the farm, which typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes. During the tour, the team will discuss the client’s needs and help create a custom “groundwork plan” for their pet. It is recommended to know which services (Lodging, Daycare, Grooming, Training) are of interest.

While it’s best to book an appointment, especially for Saturday slots, walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred to ensure dedicated time. Vaccinations are required for services but do not need to be presented at the tour.
