Miami Obedience Club

Miami Obedience Club offers group classes for all dogs, held at Tropical Park Equestrian Center Arena #2. Online registration is required for all classes, and advanced registration is necessary to attend. Classes are taught by experienced instructors who focus on teaching owners how to train their dogs.

Obedience training is offered from puppy classes to advanced competition levels. Puppy class is for dogs 3-5 months old, covering basic household commands, socialization, nutrition, grooming, housebreaking, and common problem-solving. Level I is for dogs 5 months and older, teaching essential commands like heel, sit, stand, down, stay, and come, along with nutrition, grooming, and problem solutions. Level II prepares dogs and handlers for competition in obedience, rally, and agility, covering competition levels, titles, required exercises, and regulations.

The club also offers Canine Good Citizen (CGC) classes, a certification program for dogs with good manners, and occasionally the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. Other classes include Level III (Novice/Competition), Open, Utility, Rally, Agility, MOC Member Agility Practice, Conformation Class (Show handling training), and Tricks & Tricks Titling. Class sizes are limited and depend on the availability of volunteer instructors.

Pricing Summary

All class fees are non-refundable. Dog training products like choke chains and martingale collars are available for $12.00 each for currently enrolled students and must be picked up at class.

Accomplishments

The Miami Obedience Club was established in 1964. Their classes are taught by experienced volunteer members who have been training and competing dogs for over 20 years. The club also hosts an annual awards dinner to recognize members’ AKC titles earned.

To get started, online advanced registration is required for all classes. Students must register and purchase classes online. Required forms for all obedience training classes must also be completed.
