About the Trainer
Mindful Mutts LLC, owned and operated by Aishlyn Skoczylas, offers relationship-based dog training services in Macon, GA, and surrounding areas of Middle Georgia. They provide group classes, private lessons, in-home training, day camps, and limited 14-21 day board and train programs. Their approach focuses on building trust between dog and owner using the least aversive methods possible, tailored to each dog’s individual needs. They utilize the APDT’s C.L.A.S.S. curriculum for group classes and offer specialized programs for puppies, adolescents, and adult dogs, addressing everything from basic obedience to behavioral issues like reactivity, separation anxiety, and resource guarding. They also support AKC CGC and Therapy Dog preparation. Their training philosophy emphasizes communication, positive reinforcement, and adapting to each household’s unique dynamics.
Aishlyn’s personal journey with her fearful dog, Noir, led her away from dominance-based methods toward compassionate, relationship-focused training. She draws on her experience across the pet industry—including shelters, veterinary clinics, and mentorship under Tina Spring—to guide her clients. Mindful Mutts also uses their own trained dogs as training resources for reactive or puppy clients.
They offer flexible scheduling and multiple training locations including Pet Supplies Plus in Macon, in-home visits, and pet-friendly public spaces. Their programs are designed to help dogs thrive in real-life situations while strengthening the human-canine bond.
Accomplishments
Aishlyn Skoczylas is mentored by Tina Spring of Sit Happens Dog Training & Behavior and has trained her own dogs through behavioral challenges using relationship-based methods. She has experience across pet stores, shelters, veterinary clinics, and professional dog training environments. Her programs meet AKC STAR Puppy and CGC requirements.
