MJObedience

MJObedience offers 6-week long group classes covering a range of topics from Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience (Levels 1, 2, & 3) to specialized AKC programs like Canine Good Citizen (CGC, CGCA, CGCU), Trick Dog, and Rally Obedience. They also provide K9 Fitness classes, including AKC Fit Dog and Treadmill Swimming Lessons, and MJO4 Distraction for focus training.

Private lessons are available both in-school (45-minute sessions) and in-home (60-minute sessions), addressing specific needs such as class material reinforcement, typical puppy problems, behavioral issues like fear, overstimulation, reactivity, and aggression, as well as advanced skills like heeling, recalls, and stays. Clients of Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience classes receive access to a password-protected online video library.

Pricing Summary

All classes are 6 weeks long. Puppy Kindergarten costs $200.00. Basic Obedience (Levels 1, 2, 3), AKC Trick Dog, K9 Fitness, MJO4 Focus Through Distraction, and Rally Obedience classes are $225.00. AKC CGC, CGCA, and CGCU classes are $250.00; CGC includes testing fees and rosette ribbons, while CGCA and CGCU testing fees are not included. A Greeting Seminar is $125.00. In-school private lessons/behavior consultations are $150.00 per 45-minute session, and in-home private lessons/behavior consultations are $225.00 per 60-minute session.

A 10% discount is offered to rescue dogs, first responders, military (active or veteran), and teachers (Kindergarten-High School).

Policies

All classes are 6 weeks long. Dogs over 6 months of age must provide a valid and current copy of their rabies certificate, while puppies under 6 months of age must provide proof of 2nd round inoculations. Class switching is not permitted.

The refund policy states that cancellations with at least 2 weeks notice will receive a full refund minus a $30.00 processing fee. Cancellations with less than 2 weeks notice will receive a 50% refund minus a $30.00 processing fee. Once classes have started, no refunds will be given. MJObedience takes photos and videos during class for training and promotional purposes, and clients can inform them if they prefer not to be included in promotional videos.

Michael J. McGrath is an ABCDT Certified Dog Trainer with specialty degrees in Helping Shelter Animals, The Art of Teaching Private Lessons, and Pet Nutrition. He is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (All Levels), AKC Fit Dog Evaluator, AKC Fetch Judge, AKC Trick Dog Evaluator (All Levels), AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator, and an AKC Temperament Test Judge. He has been teaching group classes on Cape Cod for over a decade and conducts over 200 private trainings per year.

Marc Marshall is an MJO Certified Trainer and AKC CGC Evaluator, having completed a multi-year apprenticeship under Michael. He and his dog Nyx have earned almost 10 titles in Rally Obedience in their first year of competing.
