MLF Dog Sports offers versatile training programs that complement each other, providing opportunities for dogs and handlers to experience various dog sports. Training sessions are six weeks long and run consecutively throughout the year, with a short break in the summer. This continuous training allows for consistent progress and success in their chosen sport.

Classes include Basic Training and Introduction to Agility/CGC, Intermediate Training and Introduction to Agility, and a comprehensive Competition Agility Program with Foundation Agility (I, II, III) and multiple Agility Levels (1-5). They also offer Advanced Competition Obedience and Rally classes. Herding lessons are currently unavailable.

New students with prior training can be evaluated and placed into an appropriate class. Instructors continuously assess students and adjust training levels and methods to meet individual needs. Puppies completing the Basic Training and Introduction to Agility class are eligible for the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate. MLF also provides evaluation opportunities for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and AKC Community Canine (CGCA) programs.

About the Trainer

MLF Dog Sports is an exclusive organization dedicated to promoting excellence in dog sports, offering competitive obedience, agility, and herding programs for handler/dog teams. They are a private organization that values good sportsmanship and dedication, fostering an atmosphere of friendship and support. The directors are respected and accomplished in their fields, united by their love of dogs and desire to train and show together.

They strive to provide a top-level facility with continually improving fields, arenas, and equipment, aiming to be the most complete dog sports training facility in the southeast valley. When enrolling in a class, students automatically become members, gaining access to instruction, seminars, clinics, fun runs, CGC tests, and special events.

MLF Dog Sports offers a wide variety of training classes for home, show, and fun, building a solid foundation for a life-long working relationship with your dog. They exclusively use positive reinforcement based on scientific learning principles, avoiding methods that apply fear, force, or pain. Training involves food treats and toy play to build and maintain behaviors, encouraging “thinking dogs” who are eager to learn.

Accomplishments

The directors of the programs are well-respected and accomplished in their fields, having achieved the highest degrees of excellence in their chosen dog sport. Cindy Meadows and Anita Easley are CGC Evaluators, with Anita Easley specifically noted as an AKC approved CGC evaluator.

How to Get Started!

Registration is encouraged at least one month prior to the beginning of a session, with class lists made on a first-received basis. A waiting list is maintained for classes. Instructors will notify students of move-ups and fill available spots upon receipt of registrations. New students with previous training will be evaluated and placed into a class best suited to their needs. To register for a class or for more information, contact Cindy Meadows via email.
