Testimonials

Trudi has been absolutely amazing to me and my pup. We have been doing agility with her for two years, and the only reason we are leaving is because we are moving. My dog is dog reactive and fearful and skeptical of everything. She has been so patient and helpful when it comes to this. She has helped him build confidence and get over his fears. He went from barely touching some of the obstacles to running over them with no problem. I could not recommended her and her facility enough.

Trudy is the best trainer in town. We brought our girl Nala here for puppy class and have since taken every class following the next so far 🙂 we will continue to take classes . Our girl has come a long way from the first class!

Trudy is so patient and kind with her training and works with you until your pup gets it right. Classes are a blast and she does things at breweries with the dogs which is great! There’s a variety of class options which is amazing if you want to keep doing different classes.

We’ve taken our other dog to a couple other facilities in the past when he was young and wish we would have found a Trudy sooner.

I can’t recommend this place enough , especially because you can tell when an owner really cares about your dog and their progress. That speaks volumes Thanks Trudy for your hard work and dedication to the dogs in your classes it means the world!

About the Trainer

Mountain Paws Dog Training is a positive reinforcement-based dog training business located in Colorado Springs, CO, led by Trudi, who specializes in family pet dog training. They offer group classes and private training sessions using only humane, force-free methods—no e-collars, prong collars, or choke collars are used. Their curriculum is science-based and focuses on building confidence, reducing anxiety, and teaching dogs to behave willingly through rewards like food and praise. Classes range from Puppy Kindergarten and Bow Wow Basics to advanced programs like Canine Good Citizen, Reactive Rover, Agility Foundations, and Trick Dog. They welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and backgrounds, with no breed restrictions. The facility provides a clean, safe environment for training, and they offer drop-in classes for ongoing practice. Trudi’s passion for helping dogs and owners build strong, lasting relationships is evident in her patient, encouraging teaching style.

They also provide specialized support for reactive and fearful dogs through structured prep and class programs, ensuring safety with barriers, head halters, and front-clip harnesses. Their programs are designed to help dogs succeed in real-world environments with distractions, and many classes include graduation tests and AKC certification opportunities. The business encourages long-term engagement with multiple class levels and even partners with external agility trainers for advanced competition prep.

Additional services include renting their training studio for private use, and they emphasize education for owners as a key to successful, joyful dog ownership. Their reviews consistently highlight Trudi’s expertise, kindness, and the transformative results for anxious, reactive, or poorly behaved dogs.

Accomplishments

Trudi has worked with a wide variety of dogs, breeds, and behaviors over the years. Many clients have completed multiple class levels and earned AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen certifications through the program. The business partners with Kara Mackenzie of FASTDoggie for advanced agility competition training.
