Mya & Mutts Dog Training

Training begins with a behavior assessment. Private programs include Bosterious to Bonded (basic obedience and communication), Puptastic Times (puppy-specific), and Reactive-to-Relaxed (behavior modification with management or emotional change plans). Group classes are offered in Level 1 (basic obedience), Level 2 (advanced obedience with distractions), and upcoming Canine Good Citizen prep. All programs use positive reinforcement and include ongoing text support and video feedback via their app.

Pricing Summary

Private sessions range from $120–$200 for up to 120 minutes. Adventure walks are $60 for 60 minutes. Group classes are offered as 6-week courses with pricing available via sign-up links. Additional costs apply for travel beyond 40 miles. Virtual make-up classes are available for an extra fee.

Policies

Makeup classes are not typically offered for missed group sessions, but virtual makeups may be available for a fee within the missed week. Children under 10 are not allowed in group classes. Only one handler and one additional person may attend group classes. Each dog requires a separate spot and fee. Handlers must be 16 or older.

Mya has over 10 years of experience working with dogs and has trained her own rescued dog, Benji, from aggression to agility competitor, which inspired her ethical approach. She emphasizes understanding dog behavior and emotions over simple obedience, helping owners manage and transform challenging behaviors with compassion.

Additional services include pet sitting and dog walking, with clients praising her reliability, kindness, and ability to connect with even the most anxious dogs.

Accomplishments

Mya is certified by the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) and is currently apprenticing with Who’s a Good Boy Ind. in New York City, working with challenging behavioral cases. She has successfully trained her own rescued dog from aggression to compete in agility and dock diving.

Client engagement begins by filling out an application on their website. After submission, Mya will contact the client to schedule a behavior assessment and discuss goals. From there, a customized training plan is created and sessions are booked via their scheduling link.
