Testimonials
Great start for your puppy!
We went to a six week class. It was Beginer Obedience with Darryl. We found it fun and helpful.
Be advised to check out the dates on the website for when registration begins because the classes fill up fast.
Also, have a PDF or photo of your pup’s rabies and shot records handy, as you have to email it within a day or two of successful registration.

I liked the 6 week sessions and the price was decent so I signed up my puppy for puppy kindergarten classes that began March 12, 2024 at noon. So we drove the 50 minutes with excitement and high hopes.
This “club” is run on a volunteer basis so getting a hold of anyone is impossible. Emails are iffy even though they claim to have sent them, and I did check spam.
At the training there were 3 instructors; only one was actually good. The main instructor spoke so low and quietly you couldn’t hear her half the time . One participant , who was an older lady, had to tell her to speak up because she couldn’t hear her but it didn’t help.
Then there was the blond hair lady who, for whatever reason, decided she had a problem with me. … She is rude, had attitude and wasn’t much of an instructor. We did not return to class and have opted to put our pup in training at another facility.

After comparing several other Nashville dog training services online, I decided to give Nashville Dog Training Club a try as they seemed to be the most affordable with a good offering of classes. I was interested in the Puppy Kindergarten class but the “Register” button on the website did not seem to work for any of the classes. I tried calling on several occasions to get more information but no one responded to any of my calls which seems to be a common complaint based on the reviews.

About the Trainer
Nashville Dog Training Club is an AKC-licensed, volunteer-run dog training facility in Nashville, TN, offering group classes for dogs of all breeds and mixed breeds, from puppy socialization to competition-level obedience, agility, rally, scent work, and tracking. Classes are held in a dedicated facility with three full-sized rings, climate control, and equipment for all training levels. The club emphasizes community, offering year-round opportunities to train, compete, and volunteer alongside fellow dog owners. While instructors are volunteers with proven expertise, the club does not offer private, in-home, or board-and-train services. Registration for 6-week sessions is highly competitive and opens briefly online, with classes filling within minutes. The facility is also available for rent by outside groups.
All classes are group-based and require dogs to be up-to-date on vaccinations. The club does not restrict by size or breed but may ask disruptive or overly aggressive dogs to leave. Bitches in season are restricted from lower-level classes and must wear pants in upper-level classes. Drop-in classes are available for advanced obedience at $10 per session.
The club is not a commercial business but a nonprofit community organization, with all instructors, coordinators, and staff being volunteers. This model keeps costs low but may result in inconsistent instructor availability and communication delays.
Accomplishments
Nashville Dog Training Club is the only AKC-licensed club in the metropolitan Nashville area offering agility, obedience, rally, tracking, scent work, and lure coursing. Founded in 1960, it has hosted numerous AKC-sanctioned trials and tests to help dogs earn titles and certifications.
