Nerdy K9 Academy offers a range of personalized dog training programs. Behavior Modification addresses issues like anxiety, fear, or aggression through private sessions. Foundation Obedience provides structure for puppies and older dogs. Virtual Training is available for remote learning. They also offer Canine Good Citizen prep and certification. Group classes, named ‘Witches to Wags’, cover basic obedience, manners, and social experiences for all levels. Specialized services include Treadmill Introduction and Use for exercise, and Introduction to Day Camp to help dogs ease into group play. For busy owners, ‘Play and Train’ allows dogs to train during day camp, while ‘Stay and Train’ offers boarding and training at Dog Days in Sioux Falls for intensive obedience work. Note that ‘Stay and Train’ and ‘Day Camp’ sessions are for obedience only, not behavioral issues.

The founder, Missy, started Nerdy K9 Academy to help dogs and families live their best lives. With over 15 years of experience, including K9 Search and Rescue, she developed an appreciation for what well-trained dogs can achieve. Her passion is using training to save the lives of challenging dogs, including those who are fearful, abused, or neglected, drawing from her background in animal welfare. The academy also provides recommended products and merchandise, and partners with Dog Days for boarding and daycamp services.
Accomplishments
Missy, the founder, is a certified professional dog trainer (CPDT-KA) and a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She has over 15 years of experience training dogs, including a background in K9 Search and Rescue. Her work in animal welfare involved training challenging dogs, including those who were fearful, abused, and neglected.
