All training begins with an online pre-evaluation followed by an in-person consultation to discuss goals, evaluate temperament, and provide accurate pricing. Programs are tailored to individual dogs.

Offerings include: Behavior Modification Board & Train for aggression, fearful behaviors, and more (2-8 weeks, starting at $2700). Obedience Board & Train for manners to advanced on & off-leash obedience (10-60 days, starting at $2700), where dogs stay with a certified trainer at their home.

Private Sessions are one-on-one with a trainer, covering basic obedience to behavior modification, where the trainer teaches the owner to train their dog ($190-$300 per session, typically around an hour but not strictly time-limited). Puppy Development Day Training and Doggy Day School allow dogs to stay with a trainer for the day to learn good habits, covering socialization, obedience, manners, house training, crate training, confidence building, and more ($800/week or $280/day).

They also offer an Alumni Group Distraction Class for dogs who have completed a board & train program, private lessons, or day training with them ($30 per dog).

Pricing Summary

In-person consultations: SC Office $50, SC In-Home $75, Maine $65. Reschedule fee for consultations is $65 if less than 24 hours notice or no-show. Obedience Board & Train programs start at $2700 and can go up. Behavior Modification Board & Train programs start at $2700 and can go up. Private one-on-one sessions are $190 per session. Behavior Modification private lessons are $300 per session. Day Training is $800 per week or $280 per day.

Policies

For consultations, if a client doesn’t show up or gives less than 24 hours notice for cancellation or reschedule, there will be no refund of the consultation charge, and a $65 reschedule fee will apply.

No Xcuses K9, founded in 2013 by Director of Training Taylor Walton (originally Controlled K9), aims to build better relationships between families and their dogs so they can enjoy life together in harmony. They are a locally owned and operated company, not a franchise, focusing on clear communication between dogs and owners.

They offer specialized programs tailored to individual dogs, training all sizes, shapes, breeds, and ages, from 8 weeks to over 10 years old. Their experienced and certified team specializes in advanced on & off-leash obedience, behavioral cases, and behavior modification, working with everything from puppy development to severe behavioral issues.

Trainers undergo rigorous hands-on training prior to joining the team and continue their education yearly by attending seminars and schoolings. They also participate in different venues of training and competition with their personal dogs. No Xcuses K9 provides training, lessons, and boarding services by appointment only.

Accomplishments

No Xcuses K9 was founded in 2013 by Taylor Walton, Director of Training, who has been working with dogs since age 5 and has over 11 years of experience. Taylor is a Certified Professional Trainer (CPT) from the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers, an AKC CGC Evaluator, Red Cross Certified in Pet First Aid, and an IACP Professional Member. She has trained, raised, and placed working police K9s and protection dogs, and has trained in French Ring Sport, Mondio Ring Sport, PSA, and Personal Protection.

Kristina Pulliam and Darcie Carson are also Certified Professional Trainers (CPT) who completed extensive apprenticeship programs. The team collectively has over 45 years of combined experience and continuously expands their knowledge by attending training and seminars regularly.

How to Get Started!

The first step to training is to fill out an online pre-evaluation form about the dog. Once completed, an in-person consultation is scheduled with a trainer. This consultation allows the trainers to meet the dog and owner, discuss goals, evaluate the dog’s individual personality and temperament, answer questions, and come up with a suitable, tailored training plan.
