- ✓ Positive Reinforcement Only
Equipment:
- ✓ Clickers
- ✓ Food Rewards
Noel Hoffmann Dog Training focuses on creating an optimal learning environment for both dogs and owners, emphasizing daily practice. All new clients begin with the “Dog Trainer One” foundation series, which consists of one session per week for four weeks. Clients can then continue with “Dog Trainer Two and Beyond” for more advanced behaviors and to strengthen existing skills, also in four-week packages.
For high-drive dogs or those requiring rapid skill acquisition, the “Intensive Training” program offers four sessions a week for four weeks. Puppy-specific programs include “Puppy Prep” for pre-puppy consultations and “Puppy Learns” for early training using clicker training and learning games.
For serious behavioral problems like aggression, fear-based behaviors, or on-leash reactivity, a “Behavioral Consultation” is recommended first to assess the issue and develop a plan. This can be followed by a “Behavioral Consultation and Training Package” which includes multiple training sessions and follow-up phone consults, or combined with the Intensive Training model for more severe cases. The trainer tailors sessions to individual client needs and offers remote options via Zoom.

It is stated that changing dog behavior takes time, work, and commitment from the owner, and there are no shortcuts. Clients are asked to keep an open mind, work hard, and always put their dog first.
Testimonials
“Before we worked with Noel, our two sweet Border terriers would turn into growling snapping monsters when we encountered another dog on a walk. Noel has worked with Charlie and Harris on basic discipline (sadly lacking beforehand) and solid techniques and strategies to employ when we meet other dogs. The change is amazing. We can now be more relaxed and enjoy our walks more because Charlie and Harris are more relaxed and confident and thus not reactive when we encounter other dogs. This change has spilled over into more relaxed and enjoyable dogs around the house. In addition, the training has made us more bonded with our dogs. Thank you, Noel!”

“Engaging with the services of Noel Hoffman was one of the best decisions I’ve made on behalf of the overall well-being of my dog, Viva. It’s shown me that with understanding of certain easily learned principles and methodical and consistent application of daily exercises, that a change in behavior can be simple and fun. Noel teaches both dog and the person on the other end of the leash by breaking the learning into modules, building block by block, which eventually leads to more complex communication of “asks,” all with positive reinforcement that makes it fun. I can see the “work” stimulates Viva’s mind and she’s eager to earn her treats. She enjoys it as much as a long walk or tug-of-war with her stuffed duck. And it’s rewarding to witness the slow and steady changes. If you love your dog and value your long-term relationship with them, this is an investment you can make to help express that—and then enjoy the benefits for you both.”
– Julia Perks – Saxton’s River, VT 2025
“We adopted a young 70 lb. pitbull who was supposed to be sweet, friendly and calm.instead we had an unruly, charging blizzard who did not like strangers. This turned out to be anxiety. We could see glimpses of JJ’s sweet, smart, silly self when the anxiety fell away but he was large and unpredictable. We needed help. We signed up for the _Behavioral Consult and Intensive Training_ and noticed a difference right away.JJ was calmer & happier – and we were calmer & happier. He loves his training sessions and it’s been a joy to see him shine. We’ve worked on basic commands, behavior, and anxiety. The beauty of Noel’s system is that it works for all of these, and you can apply it in so may ways – like nail trims, playing, crate training, and company coming over – the things of living with a dog. It’s very empowering.I love that she explains how JJ is thinking, goes thru how to harness or change it, then demonstrates. We’ve learned so much and it works!JJ has blossomed!Thank you, thank you Noel!”
