Norka Dog Guru offers several training programs. Puppy Classes are a six-week course for pups 10 weeks to 6 months old, with small class sizes (5 dogs or less) to guide owners through critical learning times.

Obedience Training is a package of four private, one-hour lessons, one session per week, for dogs 10 weeks and up. It covers commands like leash manners, sit, place/spot, down, come, and touch. Additional lessons can be purchased.

Behavior Modification addresses unwanted aggressive behaviors, including human and dog aggression, resource guarding, reactivity, separation anxiety, fear, and confidence building. After an assessment, a tailored plan is created to get to the root of the issues.

The Board & Train program allows dogs to join the trainer’s pack in their home, not a facility. This program is tailored to the dog’s needs, addressing both behavioral issues and basic obedience. Program lengths range from two to five weeks, depending on the dog’s training plan and owner’s goals.

Accomplishments

The trainer started working at a doggie daycare/training center in 2014, where they learned to handle dogs in structured play groups. After a couple of months, they began a 2-year apprenticeship in dog training. They spent five years with that company, growing as a trainer, person, and leader. In 2018, they ran a dog training franchise in Milwaukee, WI, specializing in e-collar training. They have since expanded independently, accumulating knowledge and experience with all temperaments and different breeds over “the last 9 years.”
