Training programs are structured in 6-week group classes or 6-week private sessions, with an option for 3-week boarding with training. Classes include Basic Obedience, Intermediate, CGC Certification, Advanced, and Private Training. Each program builds on foundational commands (sit, stay, heel, come) and progresses to off-leash work, distraction control, and behavior correction. All programs include a certificate and graduation photo.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Group classes range from $175 to $300 for 6-week programs. Private training is $350 for 6 weeks. Boarding with training is $500 for 3 weeks, excluding boarding fees. Discounts available for additional dogs from the same family. A free first evaluation is offered.
Policies
Refunds are available for classes not completed due to Norman’s passing. Clients must fill out a refund form to initiate the process. No other cancellation or rescheduling policies are specified.

About the Trainer
Norman’s K9 Academy was a dog training business founded by Norman Bratcher, a trainer with over 40 years of experience. The academy offered group training classes and private sessions focused on positive training and communication, helping dogs and owners build stronger bonds. Services included Basic Obedience, Intermediate Training, Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) certification, Advanced Training, Private Training, and Boarding with Training. Boarding was provided on-site at All Fur Fun, a nearby dog daycare facility with 24-hour supervision and a 15,000 sq ft outdoor play area. Norman trained dogs of all breeds, including aggressive or reactive dogs, and emphasized distraction-proofing and behavior correction at any age. The academy provided certificates of completion and graduation photos for all graduates.
Norman’s training system focused on three pillars: positive reinforcement, working around distractions, and solid basic obedience to correct unwanted behaviors. He had extensive experience as a K9 officer and senior trainer at a pet store, and his CGC program was recognized by the American Kennel Club. The academy was located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and served clients in the Louisville metro area.
As of the website update, Norman has passed away, and the business is no longer operating. The website is transitioning to a memorial site. Refunds are available for unused classes, and inquiries can be made through a form linked on the site.

Norman Bratcher had over 40 years of experience, including 11 years as a K9 officer with the Clarksville Police Force, 8 years as a Senior Trainer at a popular pet store, and training since the early 1970s. His CGC program is recognized by the American Kennel Club, and he placed therapy dog teams in hospitals and nursing homes.
