About the Trainer
North County Obedience Training Club Inc (NCOTC) was founded in 1974 by a small group of dog owners who shared a common interest in obedience. The organization encourages responsible dog ownership, advocating obedience training and participation in the AKC’s Canine Good Citizenship program.
NCOTC offers training classes to the general public, which are taught by knowledgeable club members who are qualified instructors and assistants. They host two American Kennel Club Obedience Trials annually, drawing entries from several states.
The club is actively involved in public service, with members and their dogs visiting St. Louis area nursing homes and hospitals to perform obedience exercises or offer animal companionship. NCOTC supports the Canine Good Citizen program, offering CGC and CGCA testing multiple times a year to members and students. They have also added Trick classes and testing, and provide obedience-related seminars. In 2000, NCOTC won the American Kennel Club Community Service Award.
