Dog Training Methodology
Northern Plains Retrievers offers professional gun dog training with a variety of programs including a Puppy Program, Started Program, Finished Program, Hunt Test Training, Shed Hunting, and an Obedience Program. Programs can be customized to fit the type of hunting the client does. They also offer Labrador Retriever puppies and occasionally sell trained retrievers (Started Pups or Started Dogs) that have completed their gun dog training programs.

Northern Plains Retrievers specializes in providing professional gun dog training for retrievers and breeding Labrador Retriever puppies for hunting families. They aim to develop dogs into outstanding retrievers for hunting waterfowl, upland game, or both.
They offer a variety of training programs, which can be customized to fit the specific type of hunting a client does. In addition to training, Northern Plains Retrievers also breeds Labrador Retriever puppies, including those from pointing Labrador bloodlines, and occasionally offers trained retrievers for sale that have completed their gun dog training programs.
Their puppies are bred for both drive and companionship, with dispositions that make them suitable as both family dogs and hunting companions. They are currently taking deposits for training slots for the 2025 Spring and Summer Training Season.
