Testimonials

We have been coming to NOCI for many years. We bring all our dogs new or old for training and even the specialty things. The trainers are all great and know what there talking about. If you have a stubborn breed or high energy. They can help you to correctly train you and your dog. Lets face it. You need the training first so you can then train your dog.

About the Trainer

Northwest Obedience Club is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that provides group dog training classes in obedience, rally, agility, nose work, and trick dog skills. They help dog owners build better household companions and prepare dogs for competitive events, with a strong emphasis on positive, sportsmanlike training methods. The club offers structured 7-week sessions for all skill levels—from puppy basics to advanced utility and masters agility—and welcomes all breeds and sizes. They also provide drop-in obedience training on Fridays and host AKC Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog tests. Their facility is clean and well-maintained, with ring rentals available for members. The organization promotes public awareness of obedience training and fosters a supportive community through events, a Wall of Fame, and a Fun Match program.

Instructors are experienced volunteers who specialize in specific disciplines, and members receive discounted class rates. The club requires new dog applicants to submit a completed application with vaccination records and payment, followed by an evaluation (except for puppies). They do not offer private, in-home, or board-and-train services, focusing exclusively on group classes at their facility.

Northwest Obedience Club also supports pet owners through food pantry donations and offers apparel and specialty items for sale. Their commitment to positive reinforcement and community involvement makes them a trusted choice for dog owners seeking structured, affordable, and high-quality training in a collaborative environment.

Accomplishments

The club hosts AKC CGC and Trick Dog tests, maintains a Wall of Fame for titled dogs, and organizes official NACSW Elite Trials. They have a long-standing reputation for producing well-trained dogs and fostering community through events and member participation.

How to Get Started!

Prospective students must download and complete the New Dog Application form, include vaccination records and payment, and submit it by mail or drop-off to the Training Hall Secretary. Puppies do not require evaluation. After submission, applicants are placed on a waitlist. Evaluations for non-puppy applicants are scheduled by the Director of Training the week before class begins.
