Dog Training Methodology
Methods:
- ✓ Balanced Training
Nova Pack Dog Training offers a variety of programs tailored to different needs and ages. Puppy Services are designed for puppies between 12 weeks and five months of age, including Puppy Day School (6-hour blocks, Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri 8am-4pm, Thu 7am-3pm) focusing on nipping, biting, jumping, crate training, acclimating to new environments, potty training, and socialization. In-Home Training for puppies is also available, as well as a 2-week Board and Train program to provide a strong foundation.
The Day Training Program is for dogs of all ages, with drop-off and pick-up times generally between 7am-9am and 3pm-5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. This program focuses on socialization, basic obedience, manners, confidence building, boundaries, leash pulling, eating items off the ground, and house rules. It requires an in-home evaluation and a minimum 4-week commitment, with options for 2 or 3 sessions per week.
Board And Train Programs offer immersive, expert training where the dog stays full-time with the trainer. The 2-week Puppy Board & Train (for puppies 2-5 months old) introduces rules, structure, problem-solving, potty training, socialization, and leash manners. The 3-week program is for young adolescent and adult dogs with minor behavioral issues like stubbornness, crate problems, housebreaking, or early resource guarding, covering basic obedience commands. The 4-week program targets older adolescent and adult dogs with moderate to severe issues, including anxiety, aggression (dog-on-dog or human), resource guarding, barrier frustration, and reactivity. The 6-week Rehab Board & Train is for adult dogs with serious behavioral issues, focusing on behavior modification to reset foundations and improve communication.
Hybrid Board And Train Programs combine boarding with owner involvement, where clients have their dog two days each week while the dog spends five days with the trainer. The 3-week hybrid program is for young adolescent and adult dogs with minor behavioral issues, covering rules, structure, problem-solving, basic obedience, and minor behavioral issues. The 4-week hybrid program addresses moderate to severe behavior issues, including anxiety, aggression, resource guarding, barrier frustration, and reactivity.
In-Home Dog Training provides personalized sessions in the dog’s familiar environment, addressing a wide range of behaviors including separation distress, dog aggression, and human aggression. This program involves collaborative goal setting and empowers owners to implement behavior modification plans consistently, with flexible training durations based on the dog’s and owner’s learning capabilities and the dog’s prior experiences.

How to Get Started!
To begin training with Nova Pack Dog Training, new clients are required to schedule an in-home evaluation. This initial consultation allows the trainers to assess the dog’s personality, behavior, and specific needs, enabling them to tailor the most effective training approach. During this session, the trainer will discuss the dog’s behavior, the owner’s training goals, and any concerns. After the evaluation, if the dog is deemed a good fit for a program, clients can select their preferred package.
