The Obedience Club of Chattanooga offers classes in obedience, agility, rally, reactivity, nose work, and dog/owner life enrichment. They have course tracks for “Starting out & Puppies,” “Obedience,” “Agility,” “Rally,” “Nose Work,” “Special Classes,” and “Fair Play Fridays.”

Classes are structured in semesters, with specific dates for early registration, normal registration, orientation, and session run dates. An example course, “Fair Play Friday – Wild Things,” is a workshop for 8-month to 8-year-old dogs, focusing on rough-play, with a capacity of 5 handler/dog pairs.

Membership is required to register for and attend classes. New members typically start with an Associate membership ($20) or Online Student membership ($5 for online courses only). Orientation is held on the Sunday afternoon before the start of each semester’s classes.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

Most class bundles cost $90 for weekly, all-inclusive, one-hour sessions over six weeks. Regular Members (Household and Individual Members) receive a significant discount after completing their 5th class, paying $55 per class for their 6th class and beyond. Some specialized courses may cost more.

Policies

No refunds are given after the first night of class, though credit for a future class may be permitted. Classes are progressive, and attending all classes is strongly advised. If a class is missed, handlers should notify their instructor to find out what will be covered.

Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the training building or on the agility field. Aggressive dogs (any dog showing inappropriate challenge, threat, or contest to another dog or human) are not recommended for class situations; handlers should work with the Training Director to determine alternatives.

For class completion, participants must attend at least 4 out of the 6 classes. Instructors log attendance and distribute certificates upon completion of both the attendance requirement and an end-of-course assessment.
