Testimonials

“At 40 years old I got my first dog, my son found her as a stray in the street, and she stole our hearts. I had no idea where to start with training, so I registered for the puppy obedience classes. I was 100% satisfied. My sweet girl is well on her way to becoming a good girl with manners! I plan to continue advancing through the classes with her as far as we can. Tammy is an A+++ trainer!”
– Tammy

“The trainer seemed to have something against me or my dog. I took my puppy, who is not aggressive at all, but the trainer kept implying she was. She said ‘well I guess people have different opinions on what aggressive is.’ At that point we had been there all of 5 minutes… we did not return to class. It was not a good fit for us.”

“I’m not sure so far… I came needing ‘basic’ obedience training, not ‘showmanship’ training. Multiple irreversible injuries require me to walk dogs on my right side… the instructor insisted left side heeling to be ‘the correct way’… she was adamant against teaching me what I need to learn.”

About the Trainer

The Obedience Training Club of Wichita Falls is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing humane, AKC-endorsed dog training programs for the general public. They offer group classes in Obedience, Agility, and Scent Work at their dedicated facility in Wichita Falls, TX. All instructors are experienced club members who have earned AKC titles on their own dogs, ensuring high-quality, competition-ready training. The club also hosts AKC-sanctioned Obedience/Rally Trials in February and Scent Work Trials in December, open to the public for observation. Their mission is to build positive human-dog relationships, reduce dog surrenders, and promote sportsmanlike conduct in dog sports. They welcome all breeds except wolf-hybrids and focus on making dogs better companions through structured, reward-based training.

The club emphasizes community involvement through Therapy Dog programs and outreach, and their training is designed to be accessible and reasonably priced. While they do not offer private, in-home, or board-and-train services, their facility-based group classes provide a structured environment for dogs of all ages and levels.

They do not offer dog grooming, boarding, walking, or pet supply services, and their focus remains strictly on training and performance events.

All lead instructors have earned AKC titles on their own dogs. The club has been operating since 1973 and is an affiliated AKC organization. They host annual AKC-sanctioned Obedience/Rally and Scent Work trials with participants from across the country.
