Ocala Dog Ranch offers a wide range of programs including Agility, Barn Hunt, Disc Dog, Dock Jumping, Lure Coursing, and Obedience. Agility classes progress from Intro to Agility to Agility Foundations (Foundation 1 & 2), focusing on equipment, handling, and sequencing. Barn Hunt classes are available for beginners and advanced dogs. Disc Dog offers beginner classes and hosts UpDog Challenge tournaments.
Dock Jumping includes swimming lessons, beginner dock jumping classes, Air Grab, and speed swimming games, along with sanctioned International Dog Sports tournaments. Obedience training includes a general Beginner Obedience class and specialized workshops like the Brian Szczech Obedience Workshop for problem-solving and a Snake Avoidance Workshop to train dogs to avoid snakes using dead snakes and a remote training aid.
Pricing & Policies
Pricing Summary
Agility classes are $135 for 4 weeks. Barn Hunt Beginner class is $100 for 4 weeks, and the Advanced class is $150 for 4 weeks. Disc Dog beginner classes are $75 for 3 weeks.
The Obedience Workshop is $125 for working spots and $55 for auditing spots. The Snake Avoidance Workshop is $160.
Agility Course Rental is $25 for half an hour or $35 for an hour, allowing up to 3 dogs. Pool rental is $35 for half an hour (up to 3 dogs) or $45 for an hour (up to 3 dogs), with an option to add extra dogs for $5 each for 1-hour rentals. The Air Retrieve rig can be rented for an additional $20 per hour.
Swimming lessons are $47 for 1/2 hour (1 dog) or $62 for 1 hour (up to 2 dogs). Beginner Dock Jumping private lessons are $47 for 1/2 hour (1 dog) or $62 for 1 hour (up to 2 dogs). Air Grab and Speed Swimming private lessons are also $47 for 1/2 hour (1 dog) or $62 for 1 hour (up to 2 dogs).
Dock Jumping tournament registration fees are $20 for pre-registration and $25 for day-of registration. Deposits for tournament jumps are forfeited if the client does not show.
Policies
Missed appointments will not be rescheduled or refunded. All weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded, less credit card fees. For other cancelled appointments where rescheduling is not desired, a $10 cancellation/processing fee plus credit card fees will be charged.
Clients can reschedule their own appointments up to 4 hours prior using the confirmation email. If less than 4 hours, clients must call to reschedule. For dock jumping tournaments, registration closes one week prior, and no refunds are given in the last week without a vet or doctor’s note. Deposits for tournament jumps are forfeited if the client does not show.

About the Trainer

Accomplishments
Brian Szczech, an instructor at Ocala Dog Ranch, has over 40 years of experience training retrievers. He is a member of the Hunting Retriever Club circuit and has personally owned and trained three Grand Hunting Retriever Champions/Master Hunters, including one with Hall of Fame status. He is also on the UKC/HRC historical stud dog list and authored a four-video DVD series titled ‘Gold-Plated Gundogs Retrieving Success’.
