Off Leash K9 Training offers a variety of programs tailored to different needs and ages. Basic Obedience is typically completed in four private lessons, covering commands like “Come,” “Sit,” “Extended Sit,” “Down,” “Extended Down,” “Place,” “Extended Place,” and “Loose Leash Walking.” Advanced obedience is available after basic training.

Board & Train programs include a 1-week option focusing on on-leash obedience, and 2-week programs (Community K9 and Urban K9) offering 100% off-leash obedience with a lifetime refresher. The Community K9 program exposes dogs to mid-level distractions and includes commands like off-leash heeling and down from a distance. The Urban K9 program focuses on high-level distractions with on-leash heeling. Both 2-week programs include an e-collar and a 2-hour owner session upon completion.

Specialized programs include Aggressive Dog Training (8 private lessons) for reactivity and aggression, which is customized to the dog’s needs. The Aggression Board & Train program focuses on modifying problem behaviors. Therapy Dog Preparation (8 private lessons) prepares dogs for testing and certification. Nosework Board & Train is a 3-week immersive program teaching dogs to conduct independent searches for odor.

For puppies, they offer an Online Puppy Training Course with video modules and worksheets covering potty training, crate training, basic commands, and common problem prevention. A Puppy Training Consultation provides a foundation for basic obedience and house training. While they offer in-home training, their general philosophy is to train dogs in unfamiliar environments with distractions to ensure commands are followed anywhere.

Testimonials

“I brought my rescued dog Marley for two-week board and train. She has now come back as a more confident dog who is so much easier to handle.”
– Laurel P.

“We now have a dog that we can enjoy even more because we can take him anywhere. We receive comments all the time on how well behaved he is and no one believes us when he says he is still only a puppy.”
– Liz W.

“Off Leash K9 is a phenomenal program. They delivered excellent results & totally dispelled my initial reservations about e-collar training. He’s the same affectionate pup we fell in love with, but he listens! He loves life & we love him.”

They specialize in private lessons, dog behavior consultations, and teaching owners to understand their dogs, aiming to create a strong bond without the need for a leash.

They believe that 98% of all dogs, regardless of breed, size, shape, or age, can achieve a high level of obedience. Their training system is proven to improve the lives of both dogs and owners. Their team includes handlers with diverse experience, including military, rescue, shelter, and veterinary backgrounds.

The company guarantees a 100% obedient, 100% off-leash, and 100% distraction-proof dog upon program completion, aiming for a level of obedience similar to police/military working dogs. They primarily work with household pets, enabling owners to take their dogs anywhere hassle-free. They offer free phone consultations to help clients determine the best fit for their dog.

They utilize e-collars as a communication device, emphasizing that it is not used for punishment or “shocking” dogs into submission, but rather as a subtle stimulation to gain attention. For puppies under 5 months, they offer training using the clicker/treat method. They also offer in-home training options for convenience.
