OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy, LLC

OutHounds offers an “Adventure Learning” program with rolling enrollment leveled classes (Adventure Manners) and standard enrollment courses (Leash Skills, Adventure Recall). Classes are held at Paws N Play Daycare in Dartmouth and outdoors. They offer Merit Badges for accomplishments.

Levels include Adventure Puppy (10-20 weeks), Basic Adventure Level (foundational skills), Intermediate Adventure Level (requires basic understanding), and Advanced Adventure Level (pushing boundaries). Specialized classes include AKC CGC, Joring 101, Adventure Agility, and Scent work. They also offer private, in-home, and virtual training, as well as Day Training where trainers work with dogs one-to-one without the owner present.

Pricing Summary

Group classes: Drop-In is $30 per session. Bundles are available: 4 classes for $115, 6 classes for $165. Special Topics classes range from $40-120 for 1-4 sessions. Private training: In-Home Training is $135 per session (travel charges may apply). Private Lesson at Training Center is $115 per session. Bundles for in-home training: 4 sessions for $500, 6 sessions for $710. Combo package: 6 in-home sessions plus 6 classes for $840. Virtual Training is $20-100 per session. Day Training is $35 per 30-minute session. Dog Hiking Adventures: Pack Hike is $60 (minimum 1.5-2 hours), Private Dog Hike is $150. OutCare services: Overnight OutCare starts at $130 per day, Overnight OutCare+ (with training) starts at $200 per day. OutCare Dayventures start at $80, Dayventures+ (with training) start at $100. Daily Dog Walking and Pet Sitting range from $24-$36 for 20-45 minute visits. Multi-dog households receive a 10% discount for hiking.

Accomplishments

Tadhg, the Founder, Lead Trainer, and Adventure Guide, holds a BFA in Sculpture, MA in Education, and is a CBCC-KA (Certified Behavioral Consultant Canine) and AKC-CGC Evaluator. He has a combined twenty years in human and canine education. The trainers have over a decade of experience working with various dog behavior issues, from puppies to aggression.

OutHounds is the founder of the Adventure Club, a premier hiking group. They are also a Proud Partner with the international non-profit, Leave No Trace, and donate 1% of sales to climate action through Stripe.

How to Get Started!

To get started with Group Training Classes or Private Training, new clients must complete a FREE Zoom “Dog Learning 101”: Training Orientation, held on Monday evenings at 7 PM. This orientation has no commitment. For pet care services, clients fill out a contact form, and if availability permits, they use the Precise Petcare client portal for booking and record-keeping.
