Dog Training Methodology

Methods:

  • Balanced Training

Equipment:

  • E-Collars

Pack Perspective offers a structured progression of training programs: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced instruction, along with specialized E-Collar Recall Training and Canine Evaluations. The Beginner program focuses on five basic commands (sit, stay, come, down, heel) in a quiet environment, with dogs learning to perform on a 6ft leash and hold a stay for 2-5 minutes.

The Intermediate program builds on these basics, teaching the five commands under mild to moderate distractions on a 15-20 ft lead, and in various public locations like stores, parks, and beaches, requiring dogs to hold a stay for 10-15 minutes. The Advanced program is for dogs that have completed beginner and intermediate levels, focusing on impeccable off-leash performance under all distractions, requiring significant dedication from both dog and owner.

E-Collar Recall Training is a two-part board and train program designed for reliable off-leash recall. The initial 10-day program focuses on light to moderate distractions, while the 7-day follow-up program (Part Two) addresses heavier distractions in more crowded spaces. Canine Evaluations are 7-10 day boarding stays where the trainer assesses a dog’s behavioral issues to determine their origin and the best training approach. All training options require an initial in-home behavioral analysis.

Pricing & Policies

Pricing Summary

Training rates are not explicitly listed, but an in-home behavioral analysis is a prerequisite, and its fee can be applied toward the recommended training plan. Training sessions are offered in packages of 5, 50-minute private sessions. Stay and Train programs vary in length, from 3 weeks to up to 2 months.

Boarding rates are $65 for Basic Boarding for one dog ($45 for additional dogs), $95 for Board and Camp Qualified for one dog ($65 for additional dogs), and $110 for Premium Boarding for one dog ($80 for additional dogs). A two-day minimum stay is required for boarding. There is an additional $25 charge per day for major holidays. Surcharges apply for sick dogs: $25 per day for contagiously sick dogs and $100 for unannounced sick dogs. Boarding charges are applied like a hotel room, with a full-day rate charged on drop-off and another full-day rate if pick-up is after 10 AM on the scheduled pick-up day.

Policies

A two-day minimum stay is required for all boarding services as of September 21st, 2022. Drop-off and pick-up times for boarding are between 8-10 AM or 4-6 PM, and must be scheduled with Tracy.

Boarding charges are applied similarly to a hotel room; a full-day rate is charged on the day of drop-off. If a dog is not picked up by 10 AM on the scheduled pick-up day, another full-day rate is charged, even if picked up later that day, and unused hours are not prorated. Dogs found to be contagiously sick upon drop-off will incur an additional $25 surcharge per day for quarantine and clean-up, while unannounced sick dogs will be subject to a $100 fee. An additional $25 charge per day applies during major holidays including Christmas Eve, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, July 3rd, and 4th. Clients are required to bring their dog’s food and medication only, as bowls, crates, beds, or toys are not needed.

Testimonials

“I have a 6 month old puppy with anxiety issues and who was also in need of training. Tracy took my dog into her home and cared for her and worked with her on a daily basis. I received constant updates and continue to receive advice. After three weeks of working with her my dog was changed and for the better. Her anxiety level is almost unrecognizable. I am beyond grateful for Tracy’s training and her patience and professionalism. I highly recommend Tracy for any of your pup’s needs.”
– Christine – Marshfield

“We boarded our Beagle with Tracy on a regular basis and I always knew Sinker was safe, well cared for, socialized and exercised. Tracy can manage several dogs at a time and she truly loves caring for her charges. Her property is well maintained, with a large, clean, fenced in yard with plenty of activities and space for all types of dogs to get fresh air and playtime. Our Beagle always came back from Tracy’s not only well behaved, but happy and healthy. When our Beagle got sick Tracy went above and beyond the call of duty to take her to her chemo appointments when I couldn’t, consult with the vets and counsel me with advice based on her extensive knowledge of dog health and well being. Our experience with Tracy in our dog’s life was nothing short of exemplary. We all love her and totally trust her. I could not recommend her more highly.”
– Dr. Janet English – Boston

“Tracy’s wealth of knowledge and the way in which she explained the psychology behind what our dog needed, vs. what we thought it needed, worked wonders. Without knowing it, we were actually doing him more harm than good. Tracy’s knowledge is well worth the investment and my husband and I highly recommend both her training and boarding services. Don’t think twice!”
– Darcey and David – Halifax
