Park Cities Obedience School offers Group Training Courses, Private Lessons, and a Board and Train program.
Group classes, taught by Kim Fuquay, include Puppy Kindergarten (for dogs 10 weeks to 5 months) and Basic Obedience (for dogs/pups 6 months and up). Classes are kept small (no more than 10-12 dogs/owners) and meet for 1 hour a week for five consecutive weeks. Prospective clients are welcome to observe a class before signing up.
Private lessons are also taught by Kim Fuquay, who has decades of experience. These lessons last approximately 1 hour and are available virtually anytime, 7 days a week, at their building, your home, or a local park. They are especially helpful for specific problem behaviors.
The intensive two-week in-kennel Board & Train program is designed for owners who lack the time or desire for traditional training. Dogs stay overnight and participate in a training regimen administered by animal behavior expert Karen Stark, supervised by Phil Marr. Training focuses on basic obedience commands like sit, down, stay, come when called, attention to name, and walking on a loose leash, as well as correcting behaviors such as jumping, barking, biting, and stealing food. Training is conducted Monday through Friday, with dogs typically arriving on a Monday and going home the second Friday. All commands are done on leash. Some behaviors like house training or aggression to strangers in the home are best addressed with private lessons.

Pricing Summary
The content mentions that prices for daycare, boarding, and obedience classes are “great compared with other places in the area.” For boarding, they do not charge extra for dogs to participate in doggie day care, or for medications, ear/eye drops, or injections. Rescued dogs receive a free trial day and 10% off their first daycare package.
Policies
Any dog boarding with them who has not trained with them or is not currently in their doggie day care program must have one trial day of day care prior to being accepted for boarding.
Testimonials
“Bear & Jonah LOVE going to PCOS! One of our dogs was adopted from their shelter, and they both went to training at PCOS. They have boarded several times, and go to doggie daycare often. The staff at PCOS treats both dogs like family. The best review I can give comes from the dogs – as soon as we turn on Dyer both dogs go crazy with excitement. They know exactly where they are going, and can’t wait to get there!”

“Penny and I both love PCOS. She has been going since she was about four months old and I feel like they consider her family as much as I do. I have a very busy schedule and don’t like to leave Penny at home alone all day. PCOS is affordable and gives my dog the needed play time for a high energy dog. Penny also hates to be boarded more than a few days at a time and she will often chew on her paws creating hot spots. PCOS puts up with my neurotic Mom calls and keeps me well informed.”

“We’ve been taking our Wheaten Terrier for over a year now and LOVE this place. The prices for daycare, boarding, and obedience classes are great compared with other places in the area. Every time we drop Maggie Mae off for daycare, she starts wagging her tail and is clearly excited about going in. The staff knows her name and has even helped us with behavioral issues (humping other dogs) while there during the day. We’ve also boarded here there for several 4-5 day trips and she is happy as can be when we get her back. The obedience class was also helpful with simple commands. The instructor is great with suggesting minor changes in owner behavior which helped us train her.”

About the Trainer
Park Cities Obedience School is a dog training business that has been helping Texans and their dogs since 1969. They offer a range of services including dog training, doggie day care, boarding, and grooming. Their training philosophy is built on mutual love, praise, affection, friendship, and respect, using gentle methods with no screaming, intimidation, shock, or electronic collars. They do not use food as a bribe in training, instead focusing on touch for praise and reward, and utilizing toys and play to make learning fun.
The business aims to help owners shape their dog’s behavior through repetition and consistency, teaching them to communicate clearly with their dogs through voice, eyes, and body. They emphasize that the goal is for the dog to obey out of a desire to please and love for their owner, rather than for treats.
Park Cities Obedience School also provides doggie day care focused on supervised socialization and exercise to counteract destructive behaviors like separation anxiety, excessive barking, digging, and aggression. Their boarding services include free access to day care play areas, spacious and clean kennels, and complimentary baths for longer stays. They also offer luxurious grooming services.
Accomplishments
The business has been helping Texans and their dogs since 1969, indicating over 50 years of operation. Kim Fuquay, a trainer for PCOS for over 10 years, has a registered Therapy Dog named Brinlee, and they regularly visit nursing homes and hospitals. Kim is also a Certified Therapy Dog trainer. Karen Stark is mentioned as their resident animal behavior expert, and Phil Marr supervises all training.
